Ya know that unlimited Rogers LTE I was talking about about a week ago? I just finished chatting with the Rogers IT Rep.
4:58 PM Gary Chen: So with my data plan add, there is no speed limiting, known as throttling, of any kind done on Rogers end? 4:58 PM Gary Chen: *data plan add on 4:58 PM Debbie: We do not do any throttling of data - that is illegal according to CRTC 4:59 PM Debbie: There are many factors that can affect actual speed. 4:59 PM Gary Chen: Ok 4:59 PM Debbie: Do you have any other technical questions I could answer? 5:00 PM Gary Chen: In addition, with my data plan add on, the retentions manager added an unlimited data bonus. Is it truely unlimited or is there some sort of catch or softcap of any kind? 5:01 PM Debbie: No - for the 3 months it is unlimte, experiment, go wild, try things. learn how you want to use data, then choose a correct plan. 5:02 PM Debbie: Have a good night. 5:02 PM Gary Chen: so i can pretty much use several hundred GB of usage if I wanted to 5:03 PM Debbie: yes 5:03 PM Gary Chen: may I use my phone as a portable hotspot, known as tethering? 5:03 PM Debbie: Yes
Well then, let's play the "How much GB of LTE can I use in a month" game.
Torrents. Isos. The lot.
I plan on actually trying the data myself normally and see how much I'd use instead of trying to make good use of it and worth while as much as possible. Although it doesn't really matter, I might as well run something overnight while my phone is charging and not exploding. Ideas include running a Tor node of some sort. During day time usage, I'd be doing speedtests every day everywhere I go so the speedtest app would have a lot of surveying information on speeds, ping and specific locations, general browsing, fp, reddit, youtube, etc. I could try live streaming off my phone and see how long the battery will last. Do live Google Hangout/Skype video calls while on the go. Actually play Ingress for once The list goes on.. My area is in their up to 150Mbps coverage so my realistic results will still be faster than my home Internet :v:
I had the exact same problem with mine, but my computer was new. disable the ASUS anti-surge in the bios, it tends to be rather trigger happy for no reason
Mine never whines unless it is something i have done.
Torrents. Isos. The lot.
Careful there. That's how I wrecked the antenna and battery of my Droid Razr

All you have to do is add drivers and a key, then you're done. Because of that I can get a machine deployed in ~20 minutes, down from a couple of hours. And because it is generalised, it can be deployed to pretty much anything that runs 7.

I'll get a trial copy of Windows 7 Home Premium (Every system boots this excluding a few) and get it set up with the stuff we need. [editline]5th June 2014[/editline] Now coming back to home and on our DSL. [t]http://puu.sh/9gP6O.png[/t] It makes me want to stay at work. [editline]5th June 2014[/editline] Question, Since I'm waiting for the download, I've been reading articles and that kind of stuff. And I noticed I need to make a image of the HDD. So the idea that popped in my mind was instead of shutting down the computer after image prearrangement, I'll get my external drive that I do all my general whatnot on and use the recovery tool that'll allow me to create and save a system image to the external drive, so all I have to do is get the Windows install disk or invoke recovery to use the system image created.

Damnit. I go to reinstall my virtual box XP machine to have some malware fun, and now I can't find the product key. I forgot you can't just skip it in XP.
I think I got Kiwi addicted to Ashens videos
Damnit. I go to reinstall my virtual box XP machine to have some malware fun, and now I can't find the product key. I forgot you can't just skip it in XP.
Microsoft provides a thing called 'XP Mode' you can nab.
Found it! AOL Desktop here I come.
Damnit. I go to reinstall my virtual box XP machine to have some malware fun, and now I can't find the product key. I forgot you can't just skip it in XP.
Yes you can. It will just give you 14 days to enter a key before it locks itself down and forces you to enter a key.
Yes you can. It will just give you 14 days to enter a key before it locks itself down and forces you to enter a key.
Depends on the installer. Some will outright not let you bypass the key input screen. I think OEM copies do this.
Depends on the installer. Some will outright not let you bypass the key input screen. I think OEM copies do this.
Yeah. Mine wouldn't. I'm honestly not sure if it was an OEM or not though. Thought it was my Server 2012 image, turns out it was XP Home.
Yeah. Mine wouldn't. I'm honestly not sure if it was an OEM or not though. Thought it was my Server 2012 image, turns out it was XP Home.
We actually had an OEM XP Home disc, pre-SP1. It didn't allow you to bypass the key screen. Well, it had to be OEM at least, because I pulled the key off a newer Compaq machine. And that's how I installed Windows for the first time ever back in 2004 on a Pentium II. [editline]5th June 2014[/editline] Up until I got a Windows 95 install disc and found out 9x keys are extremely easy to find.

I spent way too long using a Magic-Eraser to clean up my K90's keys. It cleans and roughs the surface a bit so they are back to looking matte grey again. I'm trying to talk to Logitech for some gear to review though.
I've managed to wear shiny spots on my mouse and G15.
I also took off the wrist rest and what the fuck this feels so strange to type on.
Got the fingerprint reader on my 8460p to work Fuckin' radical, all of my computers need this
I've managed to wear shiny spots on my mouse and G15.
Do you have a G15 V2? The only wear I've got on mine is on the silver Logitech logo badge thing at the bottom middle from resting my palm there when I'm typing. My typing style is actually pretty weird I think, it's born more out of necessity than anything (the need to press shift and enter a lot while talking online I guess). My right hand moves around a lot while my left hand basically stays stationary with my pinky practically always on enter. Also strangely I press space with my right index finger :v: [sp]also oh god the flash makes my keyboard look fucking disgusting help[/sp] [sp]also also it's REALLY FUCKING HARD to try to frame a photo when you're trying to hold your phone in between your chin and collarbone while still being able to say "cheese" so the shutter activates[/sp]
Disassemble keyboard and put all non electronic parts in the dishwasher pls. It's really easy to do that to a g15, I had one of those as well, before the spacebar broke and i got a mech.
I've been using the same £5 Argos own-brand keyboard for close to 4 years. I couldn't get away with mechanical. I actually prefer the laptop-style keyboards.
Want more pain? I got rid of my IBM mechanical (It had a removable chord with SDL connector) - Can't say for sure it was an M but the removable chord points in that direction. I might get a newer mech at some point to give it another go but honestly I type fast enough and with precision on these cheap things. I even manage to hold my own in UT with them :v:
[t]http://f2.braxupload.se/9ysgnc.png[/t] this thing is pretty cool actually
