I just looked at my join date. 4th June 2010! My 4th anniversary was four days ago.
My 7th is in another month or so and I'd been a lurker for a about a year before that, the time sure has gone by..

Wheely drawer thing I overtightened a bolt and snapped it in half, had to go find another one :v:
This is why we use MiBs and KiBs and friends [editline]8th June 2014[/editline] Specifically because software almost always uses 1024, whether it's written kB or KiB, whereas HDD manufacturers exclusively use 1000 - resulting in the fact Windows will tell you your 500GB HDD has a capacity of 465.7GB. This is the reason the binary prefixes exist.
I still want to know who decided that the ibibits/bytes would be the base 2 version. Fuck that. A Megabyte is 1024 Kilobytes, and it seriously irritates me when I have to type MiB or something when using something like Wolfram Alpha.

1 kilograms is 1024 grams.

I still pronounce both as "megabytes" though because "mebibyte" is FUCKING RETARDED.
Please back this, I love it: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/29211325/sheltered/
1 kilograms is 1024 grams.
I bet those trying to lose weight are supporters of this
"Retro" graphics, No prior portfolio and a broken website. I'll pass for now. Good concept but it doesn't tick any of my boxes.
Long known neighbour brought over two laptops, neither have HDDs but apparently they actually work. Just one of them has no HDD caddy. Might have to get one from eBay and two new HDDs from Misco.
Please back this, I love it: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/29211325/sheltered/
Looks extremely boring to be honest.
Just spent the entire day at DICE's offices having a Lan party. They're office is so good looking, and their PC's are fantastic.
and their PC's are fantastic.
This is true for every major dev since they need something that can run the game un-optimized for testing.
Is that why they always forget to optimize it?
This is true for every major dev since they need something that can run the game un-optimized for testing.
Intel xeon (cant remember model,) 32gb ram and Gtx 780. I really want a Gtx 780. Here's some pics. Whats with the sign? [editline]8th June 2014[/editline] Did someone touch them?
Did they put a big sign saying "Out Of Order" over the Battlefield 4 display?
Whats with the sign? [editline]8th June 2014[/editline] Did someone touch them?
I think they had xbone or 360 devkits in there before. Were none in there when we were there
Alright so I have my girlfriend's old APU A4 Lliano laptop which is a pretty alright for it's generation. Currently it has no RAM but I'm planning to get 2x2GB or 2x4GB sticks. My question is do I chuck an SSD in it or do I just chuck a plan old HDD. It's mainly for web browsing and experimental stuff. Further note do I just chuck 8.1 on it or learn the ways of the Linux.
8.1 and a cheap SSD. Even if it's not going to do anything intensive, she'll appreciate the boot and hibernation wake times.
Intel xeon (cant remember model,) 32gb ram and Gtx 780. I really want a Gtx 780.
They use E5-2687Ws Xeons
[t]http://i.imgur.com/33OrzPZ.jpg[/t] Git hyped!

gman@nayru$ git hyped git: 'hyped' is not a git command. See 'git --help'. gman@nayru$
All jokes aside, I would like a new Mirror's Edge. I can't help but think this isn't that, though - watch it be a next-gen remake or something dumb like that, just because EA hates fun.
I've owned it for ages and have yet to play past the training part. I feel like I should be playing it.
I've owned it for ages and have yet to play past the training part. I feel like I should be playing it.
the aesthetic beauty of mirrors edge really begins at the storm drain imo. you should play it
It's already confirmed to be a prequel
Oh yay. A prequel. Where they try and force a bunch of abstract connections to just normal shit in the original. More studios need to realize they're not working on the MGS series. You can't just draw plot lines out of thin air and make the first game make less/more sense at the same time
[t]http://i.imgur.com/rWgEAVZ.jpg[/t]
"Because our ego still isn't big enough, we're going to pad ourselves on our backs even more by putting up 30 copies of BF4 on the walls of the display room just to remind us how awesome we are"

Everytime an employee gets a paycheck it's mandatory they have to go buy another copy of BF4.
