Any theories? I don't get it. They're both the i5 ones too as far as I know.

Apparently it throttles to hell during prolonged use because it's a much smaller profile than the SP2. That's annoying.
with this and the sticky keys bug still not being fixed, i'll just stick with my sp1 [sp]and not like i had any money for the new one[/sp]

speaking of surface, my type cover is starting to fall apart ;_;
Blegh. Had a migraine or something for these last 30 hours or so. :(
I want to go home. Only an hour and a half left. :(
I should stop bumming around when it comes to looking at bills. You're not going to get service credit if they fuck up and you don't pick it up and complain.

There's a list of URLs in Steam's files, you can easily remove the linkfilter entry and break it, but nope, Steam does not like that, every time you restart, it'll replace the file
If you set the permissions so steam can't touch it, too bad it just replaced the file
Set the permissions so that NOTHING can write to it, fuck you, it won't load the file and breaks everything else in the process
ln -s /dev/null ./linkfilter

Also I'm sure it's been asked before, but let's pretend that I would like to use my T100 as a third monitor for my computer. Any software that can accomplish this? (Preferably free, Windows is fine?)
Only way I've ever achieved this in a working way is with Linux Xorg and Xdmx. Made a laptop with only one VGA output have 5 remote screens this way with five low-end laptops and a gigabit switch. No noticable lag, but 3D support is unavailable on the remote displays if the gfx-chipsets are different though.

took a few hours to get the firefox build system to cooperate with me but it's worth it
Desktop apps on 8"? I think that would be a pretty frustrating experience.
I've briefly messed around with my dad's Venue 8 Pro and it's quite good. Small, though usable. I was RDPed into my Windows Server 2012R2 box and was doing basic AD stuff just fine. The flexibility is great. You could install emulators, stream touch-friendly games using home streaming and use apps that do DPI scaling well. I haven't tried it just yet, though my dad's work email is done through Groupwise, but they don't have IMAP or POP3 setup. The webmail doesn't support touch either. So his options to get email on a tablet would normally be through the "simple" webmail ui, which is designed for dumbphones. However, since it's a full PC he could throw the full groupwise client on his tablet and have it scale up.
I've said it before, though I'm really eager for the day I can get away with one computer and maybe a server, but not lose portability. An ultrabook or tablet with decent enough integrated graphics (Come on, Iris!) that can support a few monitors and light gaming would be fantastic if I could dock it into a "desktop" setup.
First day of internship. Whoever set up our server used zipties instead of screws to hold everyting in place. This is going to be fun.
So I started a folder sync between my PC and my server and walked away. I come back ten minutes later and the machine has locked solid. Awesome.
Then as I reach for the reset button I notice the HDD light is still blinking. I pull out a thinkpad and check the server. It's still syncing! IT finishes half an hour later and then I reset and reboot. I try and sync again and no, it did actually sync everything. I've never seen a computer crash so hard and still function.

Cortana sometimes sings this if you ask her to sing a song. It makes me cry every time.
Thanks Microsoft, this totally helps my decision clearer

It'd be great if you could get Cortana to sing any song.
I'd get a Windows Phone just to have Cortana perform gangsta rap all day.
Took two days but EA finally sent me an email with a Battlefield Hardline Beta code.

Just like a construction worker, by using gentoo you are basically "building" a system.

I gotta admit, ASP.net is a great plattform.

ASP.NET is fantastic (We don't talk about classic ASP.) but just the massive irony about that site is just... incredible.

I've had my R9 270X for over a month now and I just found out today that it's eligible for the Radeon Rewards 'ruby' bundle. I was told by XFX support that the promo was over and I would have had to mail in the UPC to get it, but no, there's a code on the warranty card that I completely skipped over.
4 free vidya games, woohoo
