dsl maybe, but that's even stretching it
I've decided to ditch 1440p IPS over 1080p IPS since I really can't find a display suitable for multi monitor setup (price and design).
Right now I'm looking at the Dell UltraSharp [url="http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=860-BBCG&baynote_bnrank=0&baynote_irrank=0&~ck=baynoteSearch"]U2414H[/url]. Anyone got any experience with it, and how how is 8ms for gaming? (Not buying it for gaming, but I do occasionally play bf4 and gw2)
it's fine for gaming
[editline]14th June 2014[/editline]
those displays with 1ms latency are probably no better because of other factors counting in to input latency

Apparently mine has 14ms of lag and I can play arena shooters fine, you should be good
[QUOTE=.Lain;45101669]when did FF get this feature?

actually super useful[/QUOTE]
Mine doesn't have cool buttons like yours.

OS X superiority
unless it's a crt i really don't feel any difference
my current monitor is like 44ms i think, no different from a gaming one
Stop confusing input delay with response time plz.

Install Nightlies.
[editline]14th June 2014[/editline]
i actually noticed that too when i was first building Arctic Tern but i had to revert to stable because a tumblr extension wouldn't work
yeah, it was in FF 32
[editline]14th June 2014[/editline]
nightlies are cool, since i switched my ram usage literally halved for whatever reason

If they are better than a 300 Mhz Pentium II, they are powerful enough for Arch with LXDE or some other light DE or WM.

it's probably around that mark
but what would you use them for? batteries are completely dead too
iirc it's got 128mb ram

That's fair enough. Only thing I could think of its some sort of file server (which without a GUI, 128 MB is overkill for light use, headless Arch usually runs around 30-50 MB used with a few services running for me). But odds are, you probably already have a more powerful machine for that. Or have an rPi.

yep, two 8 core servers with 32gb ram each and humongous amounts of storage at work
here at home i already have a server and a nas so that's that

aw shit my mouse is starting to disconnect, time to buy a new one
what's the hot shit nowadays after the g400 has stopped production?

If you want the same thing, the G400s is just a G400 with an ugly paintjob and slightly faster sensor
zowie mice, g400s

if there are any matte painted ones i'd probably buy it in an instant, love those things
i guess that works though, but kinda pricey
you pay a premium with zowie though
Hey guys, figured out a solution for now for the loading issue on Firefox with cloudflare. Don't allow your browser to delete cookies completely, you have to manually go in, find every facepunch cookie, and delete them. Then the site will miraculously load up. Not clear if you'll have to do it every time, but it's a temporary fix until they can get the loading thing worked out.
Installed Firefox nightly on my Arch laptop, the right-click menu buttons are way cool.
I feel like an idiot for not being able to install Arch Linux, even when I use that install script that makes it easy as fuck.
Help, It's not even 1:30 in the afternoon and I'm drunk.

This might help.

I'll give it a try, but I can't help but wonder why I couldn't get the AUI script to work. Does it have something to do with partitioning? Because I might have not added the boot flag to it and I don't know how to.

personally I wouldn't rely on install scripts. whenever I've installed Arch on different hardware configurations, I've always bumped into one or two issues in the process which I have to fix, so it's better to learn the process than to rely on a script so you have more control

Try out the Mionix Naos 7000 i really like it and i have used the mx500 mx518 and g400 for many years over 10 years +.
Its made in sweden too.

I'd never trust a script installation, ground-up is best, especially with Arch.
Ubuntu, Mint etc. are broiler chicken, you grow it as fast as possible, push it to customers, and then quickly get working on the next one.
Arch is like corned beef - you can get the base from the store, but you'll have to pickle the meat in brine yourself, and you have to build the brine yourself, and then you have to store it in the fridge for 10 days whilst the brine does its magic, but after you're done, it's the ultimate sandwich beef.
Also, the /boot partition has to be set as bootable, or the / partition if you're not using a /boot partition, but not using /boot restricts your filesystem options for the root filesystem.
