Some how after all my painstaking denoising, compression on YT made the video look the cleanest. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CzyJ5pvr8S8
A-shoos
Pepper;45195715']I had to install an unofficial patch as windows 98 doesn't like using more than 512MB RAM apparently. There's actually a community releasing service packs for it.
That's hilarious
A-shoos
What do you mean. why the "sh"
That OS icon... Brings back some memories for sure.
Yeah, memories that I really wanted to forget :v:
I wonder how low we need to go before passive cooling becomes feasible.
I run my 2600k passively. Yeah, it runs hotter than it would if it was fan cooled but I still have absolutely zero issues with it.
man i still get impressed with the lego movie graphics-wise to the point i actually considered the possibility of it being made with stopmotion and it was literally the only mover i've ever seen in 3D where i said "shit, watching this in 2D won't have the same impact" they absolutely nailed the 3D in it
The motion blur is even done with lego
What do you mean. why the "sh"
The way you pronounced Asus incorrectly, it should be Ay-sus
The way you pronounced Asus incorrectly, it should be Ay-sus
1) But again why the sh 2) I used to say it like that for years, but then a video by asus said it longer so I started saying it like that. People tell me it's incorrect when I say it both ways.

Sounds like I'm a giant asshole.
people who pronounce 'asus' with an 'oo' sound are the same people who say 'jif' when pronouncing gif they're assholes
I say it with an 'oo' now because a customer will ask what kind of laptop to get, and if I say ASUS, they say "Acer? Okay." [editline]23rd June 2014[/editline]
Pepper;45195553']Windows 98 is surprisingly usable still i found. I'm posting from a 1.2GHZ amd athlon, 1GB RAM, 40GB HDD, geforce 2MX. It absolutely whips along, it can reboot in less than 30 seconds.
I disagree. We just had to get an old 95 machine running with a hard drive from a 98 machine because their's died, and we only had 1 system with an ISA slot laying around. Edit: Granted 1gb RAM is a hell of a lot more than that machine had.
people who pronounce 'asus' with an 'oo' sound are the same people who say 'jif' when pronouncing gif they're assholes
we should all just pronounce asus the same way gman does "terrible"
we should all just pronounce asus the same way gman does "terrible"
this is irrelevant to me as i pronounce everything as a horrible screeching sound above the capability of human hearing it's ergonomic
Yeah heh I have a standard Def cable box and a 1080p HDTV. At least I connected it using composite instead of a coax cable and used channel 3. I think it costs like $5-10 more a month to rent the HD box and even then it's not a pvr, and we only have like 10 HD channels. To get more costs extra.
Interesting. When we brought in our 2003 Motorola digital cable box to our cable company to get it replaced this year due to horrible slowness and graphical glitches (you could watch it render the UI and bugged fonts every so often), they actually told us these had been retired from service like 6 years ago and its amazing this one lasted as long as it did. One of these ancient beasts. They gave us a new HD capable one for the same rate we were paying for that old one. And no extra cost for HD versions of all the SD channels. Doesn't have clock on the front though, which sucks.
I am fairly certain asus at one point dedicated their entire webpage to the correct pronunciation of their name, and it's more of an ayy-seuss than anything. [editline]23rd June 2014[/editline]
we should all just pronounce asus the same way gman does "terrible"
I'm actually thinking about starting to pronounce it "ASS-us", to emphasize that they can KISS MY ASS. I don't care that most of their products are probably decent or even good, I will hate them until the end of time, or until everyone else pisses me off just as much.
i just had a dream where i was gonna get a really high end (ugly as sin) alienware laptop for free as long as i could convince the record company that i actually was john lennon also the laptop had like 5 cd drives and somebody was trying to suffocate me with one of those really wide leather guitar straps
Speaking of dvd drives, a couple weeks ago I got an old Qosmio in where the drive opened toward you. It was one of the most poorly designed laptops ever. Nothing made sense.
I've had to deal with these. "Toughbook" in name only. Otherwise they are nasty creaky pieces of plastic with a billion screws and a non standard hard drive. I lost count how many times in Vancouver people brought them in after dropping them or doing something and then saying "this isn't a toughbook at all! I want my money back!" Fuck you.
[editline]23rd June 2014[/editline] It seems like TVs now are trying to cut out the old analog inputs. My 19" Toshiba from 2009 has more analog inputs then our fairly nice and newer 46" Samsung. 2 component, two composite/svideo, and vga vs 1 combined composite/component input and I don't think even has VGA, just 4 HDMI inputs.
My Samsung TV bought in October still has a SCART and Composite inputs. Though that's not the only out of date dinosaur on the set. Why the fuck we continue to use these is beyond me, they are a major source of interference and is especially so for HD broadcasts. Satellite and Cable over here have long switched over to using F connectors and hell everything in a terrestrial TV setup uses F-connectors except the TV connector so it is hardly like if we suddenly switch over we won't have anything to connect a TV with.
