Production is the test environment for real men.
Production is the test environment for real men.
Hey at least they know that it works
"Congratulations, Jim, your new push system works. I'm sure ABC, CBS, NBC, or any of the other fine news agencies out there will surely love your handiwork when you begin your employment with them, since your current employment here is hereby terminated. Have an awesome day though, Jim - and again, congratulations on that awesome job you did."
I haven't watched TV since back when we changed all our TVs to LCDs. They all take a fucking eternity to switch channels, and since they've changed the numbers over the years and my main method of watching TV was zapping, I can't enjoy it at all anymore.
Yeah, there's a lot of shitty flatscreen TVs. You should've seen our old plasma SDTV, it took like a solid 4 seconds to change channels. But then it committed Sudoku and we got a nice Sony Smart TV. The 'smart' apps are of questionable usability (why the fuck would I need to play tetris on a 42 inch TV with a remote), but watching TV on it is quite enjoyable. It's pretty quick to change channels and the guide is very well designed. TV turns on pretty quickly too (but you have to wait a bit before using certain features because it's still booting up, lol).
I got a smart TV and it takes 10 seconds for the "Switch input" menu to show up. Hey, but atleast I get a Fluid smooth animation running at 1 fps.

So you have to press the 'source' button for an eternity until you get to the input you want. If you're really lucky, you've lost concentration while doing this and you accidentally miss the input you wanted to go to, meaning you have to go through all the sources all over again.

That's genuinely useful.
Or Netflix. I used youtube on my TV once, with my android phone acting as a remote. It was pretty brilliant.
Our Smart TV's YouTube app is terrible. To search videos you have to enter text on a slow as balls A-Z keyboard using the arrow keys (The remote has a qwerty keypad on the back, it doesn't work on anything), and every time you enter a letter it shows results for what you just entered. So the magic of when your parents tell you "Put on this video about some artist, she's Japanese, I think her name was Yurikama or something". So you type in Y-U-R-I- and get 60 inches of anime lesbians The other great thing? After finishing a video it autoplays the first related video. You know all those times the related videos were clips of medical procedures or horses fucking? Yeah too bad it just automatically plays those in fullscreen [editline]asdf[/editline] More fun shit: The remote takes 4 AAA batteries and drains them in about a week, the only thing it gets used for is turning the TV on and off once a day You have to point it directly at the corner of the TV or it won't work The TV constantly refuses to find our cable box's signal and has to be reset. The default homepage is Yahoo, which is covered in animated ads and videos which lags the TV to a halt
For youtube, I just use my Google Chromecast. Or my HTPC running Windows Embedded 8.1
I was under the impression that WinRT flash player only worked on sites in its whitelist, but can't find any site It doesnt work on, and ive tried some pretty dubious websites. Touch IE seems to not show ads either, not sure if that's because of some built in blocker or if it just doesnt support whatever format the ads are in ha.
60 inches of anime lesbians
Sounds like a tagline for some kinky dvd.
I don't know how YouTube does it, but some magic allows me to use my phone to browse videos and then play them on my TV.
It's local network magic
Apparently my bluray player supports broadcasting via chromecast, so I can go straight from it on my living room TV to my bedroom one with a chromecast
I don't know how YouTube does it, but some magic allows me to use my phone to browse videos and then play them on my TV.
You can do that with ours too, you sync it to your phone with a QR code. Works a million times faster than finding the videos yourself It's still so much easier to just use DLNA and stream the videos from my PC
Google I/O is happening!
The fact that you guys think this should be a fireable offense is scary.
The fact that you guys think this should be a fireable offense is scary.
Isn't anything a fireable offense if you spin it right?
Is it just me or does flash player on the ASUS t100 run like ass? Everytime i play something in firefox, chrome, opera it freezes the video for more than 5 seconds and then the programs is not responding for a few seconds.
Isn't anything a fireable offense if you spin it right?
You are fired for being gay.
It's local network magic
Its not even local network. I can control the our bluray YouTube player via mobile data.
You are fired for being gay.
I could spin it. Hell, sadly many employers have spun that pretty well.

Might be doing a lot of swapping when the flash plugin starts.
Is the RAM nearly full? Might be doing a lot of swapping when the flash plugin starts.
It has 2 GB of Ram and its using around 800 MB.
The fact that you guys think this should be a fireable offense is scary.
Shouldn't be, but sadly, is.
What's the best $700 gaming laptop out there. Friend wants to be able to play ARMA 3 decently too
You're not going to go far with $700 for something like that.
What's the best $700 gaming laptop out there. Friend wants to be able to play ARMA 3 decently too
A desktop.
What's the best $700 gaming laptop out there. Friend wants to be able to play ARMA 3 decently too
I'm gonna be honest. A 700$ won't really be able to play Arma 3 anywhere near playable levels. Maybe if you turn everything down and even reduce the render resolution, which in turn makes arma 3 looks so bad it's not worth it.
