i don't think it's the power draw, but the shittiness of the fan or something? idk i should probably just replace the breaker with one that doesn't do it
[editline]27th June 2014[/editline]
actually i think it's just the breaker being way too sensitive, it's the only breaker i've ever had problems with, its always tripped frequently
Could be the fan too, we had an iron that'd consistently trip the breakers in our old house
My room and the living room are on the same breaker. We can't run anything else because of my PC being on this breaker. My parents actually tried to get me to run an extension cable out of my room and down the hallway to a different plug so they could plug in their PS3. I told em to do it with their PS3 instead cause I'm not gonna give someone else access to the power for my machine.
Holy shit some people.
A VM Host broke down and had data loss. Ofc I had backups.
So I set up the VM on another machine and imported the backup data and mysql dumps into the VM.
They now tell me that the Backup SQL Dump I imported was old as fuck (multiple weeks old), but the dump was made yesterday. Hell I even checked the Timestamp that was written by mysqldump.exe into the file to make sure it was correct.
They now blame me for not backing up stuff correctly.
Just as a disclaimer here: Correct Database was backed up, dump is 100% from yesterday, dump is verified to be correctly imported into DB.
Sometimes I fucking hate IT.

I don't get paid enough for this shit. (less than 5$ per hour)
So, I bought a thing

It has an Intel Atom CPU and runs Vista. Also has a 16gb SSD and cost me $40.
[editline]27th June 2014[/editline]
Oh, but there's a BIOS password.
[editline]27th June 2014[/editline]
Oh, and someone stole the SSD and damaged the ribbon cable.
It's the closest thing you'll come to an IRL pip-boy.

Time to make a Pip boy case
Dat keyboard

Is that minimum wage or something there
Dat keyboard
There is no way that doesn't need a stylus to use the keyboard.

Yeah, I'll get right on that after I tackle the "I have no hard drive" and "I have a BIOS lock because someone is a massive cunt".
Is that minimum wage or something there
Usual Pay amount when you're in a "Dual Education System".
Basically you are both in school and at work.
Aprentices are often getting ripped off and sometimes held like slaves. Aprentices are a very cheap work force here.

Actually the buttons are about the same size as the ones on my old HTC Dream.
So since the Font-Rendering on Windows really bothered me on some applications (having no anti-aliasing at all), I installed MacType because a friend has recommended it. So I tried it out, and holy shit the font-rendering has improved greatly. Why did no one tell me about it earlier
cleartype a shit
[editline]27th June 2014[/editline]
OS X font rendering and Infinality on linux are the best. Mactype and the other one are good Windows ones but support isn't 100% in windows
Don't know which is better, the BSOD or the advertisements it displays as i walk past to work

I think it's worse I know exactly where that is

In all honesty and not trying to sound like a bellend, but the OQO thingy pulled it off better. Just saying.
So Nokia wants to interview me.
In all honesty and not trying to sound like a bellend, but the OQO thingy pulled it off better. Just saying.
OQO Also wasn't as rugged, and OQO also went out of business.
Sucks though.
[editline]27th June 2014[/editline]
OQO was sexy as fuck, atom aside...
Imagine a modern OQO with a modern ULV with Variable TDP and a fan dock. A man can dream.
[editline]27th June 2014[/editline]
Even a modern Bay Trail Atom would be so nice.
[t]http://www.umpcportal.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/img_7765.jpg[/t]
Oh god, its so cute!
[editline]27th June 2014[/editline]
The problem is that normies aren't interested in the form factor. Sysadmins would love it.
MIDs were the shit without a doubt.
Sony's UMPC's looked nice but you could tell they were almost impossible to type with.

i'm sure they weren't all that bad, blackberry pads are usable to some extent
but keypads are still shit overall compared to touchscreens
i can type much faster with a good touch keyboard than i can with a blackberry keypad, which are some of the best keypads
Talking of MIDs, I still do use my VAIO P a decent amount.
Talking of MIDs, I still do use my VAIO P a decent amount.
Why did you get that abomination again?
I can type faster usnig one finger on my iPhone 6's keyboard than I ever could on a device with a built in physical keyboard.

How much autocorrect and stuff do you rely on for it?
[editline]27th June 2014[/editline]
Why the zing? I'm genuinely curious. Wasn't an attack.
Are you from the future?
Anyone got a spare flux capacitor lying around?
I hate how my PC does not have a proper bloody card reader built in, using a USB or the camera itself is slow as fuck. On my college machine it's speedy, like 80MB/s.
I thought you were suggesting that autocorrect is a shit crutch considering the typo.
If it works for you, it works for you. Nothing wrong with that.
