I personally am not that much of a fan of macbooks.
From what I used of a mid-2012 model, intake design meaned that it pretty much shit where it ate (the hinge) and the little fans spin up to ludacris speeds under load, which means that under any heavy load it sounds like a bloody aircraft taking off and the frame dissipates heat all over so if it's not uncomfortably cold sitting on a lap it's uncomfortably warm.
I guess the long battery life excuses the non-replaceable battery but earlier MacBooks had that feature completely fine. Also, the glossy glass screen is great for showroom viewing but useless in any sort of high lighting environment because you get lights reflecting in your face and shows off fingerprints like it's nothing.
Don't get me wrong, it's still one of the best laptops of its class and it's well built for general purpose computing, but a similarly priced Thinkpad, Precision or Elitebook is better for actual use as a laptop to do work on and throw around any day of the week.
Pretty sure MIPS prefers ADB for his keyboards :v:
A keyboard is a keyboard. I generally don't fucking care what I type with or what port it needs so long as it works.

matte is baaaad
i'd take the AG matte coating off of all my monitors if i didn't want to keep the warranty
[editline]5th July 2014[/editline]
i mean, phones don't have matte screens and people don't typically have any problem using those in daylight. the screen is bright enough for that to be a practical non-problem

Son, I've used a ZX81. The spectrum would be a walk in the park.

Rectal stretching injury.

I'm a little excited, really. But I'm going to keep my ThinkPad as long as I can cope with, as it has 3 year warranty. The next thing I need now is an iPhone to replace one of my phones with, that I can save up for or somethin'.
Is it strange for me to still be referring to texting as "SMS"? I've always referred to the service as "SMS" and my girlfriend brought it up one day saying it was really weird. Is this term not in use anymore by most?
How is it prettier? Wouldn't both be pretty due to the designs?
Well, it's free delivery after all. It isn't an urgent order. I got it with 8GB with Final Cut Pro X.
Ew.
Ew.
But my learning curve! Please understand.
We briefly met some of the attack on titan voice talent, and ashly burch. So far that is one of the notable things at supercon today. Tried taking some video and pictures.

i don't know how to rate this post.
But for me too, SMS > texting.
Oh hi MIPS, didn't know you had a third account.
Outdated BIOS doesn't detect your keyboard? Yeah I didn't think it was a keyboard either.
The Finnish slang over where I live has evolved the word "tekstiviesti" (text message) into "tekstari".
The word/acronym/term SMS was never in popular usage here, it was only really used by the engineers of the phone companies, since it was mainly used for testing/debugging cellular networks, and the engineers would carry their workphones with SMS capabilities on them outside of work, and send messages to each other outside of work, in order to organize social meetings (which presumably involve a sauna, beer, a lake and a grill, because Finland).
It pretty much exploded from there.

final cut pro is not worth learning
learn avid or premiere
final cut pro is not worth learning

Premiere is something that Adobe shat on. I guess Avid will do but lets just see. By adobe doing said shaton, is that adobe rendered my educational license useless.

Sitting on stadium bench seating for ~9 hours did a number on my back so I didn't go today (also my face and the back of one hand got really sunburnt)
might i ask why
that sounds terribly boring
is it a charity event or something like that?
I was inside a warehouse all day yesterday. Dat holiday pay though

Apparently "we're going to be closed for the 4th" actually means "we're going to have an unpaid company meeting on the 4th"
