Totally agree, I think they should also throw in some computer maintenance software side. I think we all joke here about friends, family etc with nine million toolbars and other crap on their machines. They should also focus on getting their technical ability up so they aren't so technically illiterate because if it were any other common subject they would be mocked for it. "My USB thingy doesn't work" just shouldn't fly.
My course involves a mix of ICT, IT and media. I mean programming language and web design and development. And a bit of Android too, I'm a little bit excited about it.

My mom has no idea how to maintain and treat really anything. She scrubs the nonstick with the rough side of sponges and uses metal forks and stuff in them. She also scrubs the cast iron skillet until it's shiny again.
She really is clueless on how to properly maintain most things she owns I think.

They teach you pretty much everything from scratch at university. except maths if you have that as a module.
Not sure if I want to go to Uni for IT personally, finding it boring on my Level 3 IT course at college with a year to go. Want to start getting out there and getting some longed for money in my pocket.

Hook it up, wait for it to get hot, cut bacon in half with shears, place into waffle iron, close for 2 minutes, open and move around a little to make sure there's no surface area that hasn't been cooked, close again.
The cooking time might vary depending on things, but it works.
I think we do, but it sucks. I do have a cast iron pan with a grate on it, so I might cook the rest on that since it will drain the fat.
Won't work as well as a waffle iron, because a waffle iron has heating elements on both top and bottom.
Also, define "sucks" - it only really needs a light that tells you that it's heated up. If it can't stay hot, then I understand.
