The wait for a faster internet connection has ended up getting pretty painful for me. Got to wait until the 18th to have it installed and there is all this shit I want to do with such a connection.
Some people in my class were really fucking dumb. I had questions like "Hey can you install Office 2013 for me?" or "How do I download Adobe photoshop?" Mind you, this is a Sysadmin/Programmer Class. Holy shit
Sorry for your pain and suffering
Won't work as well as a waffle iron, because a waffle iron has heating elements on both top and bottom. Also, define "sucks" - it only really needs a light that tells you that it's heated up. If it can't stay hot, then I understand.
What is the desired effect from it being cooked from the top and bottom? Also sucks as in it's falling apart and I'm scared to use it.
What is the desired effect from it being cooked from the top and bottom? Also sucks as in it's falling apart and I'm scared to use it.
Extremely even cooking, before all the fat is rendered out and it goes up in flames. The pattern that waffle irons helps with the shrinking effect, also. Also, it's not my cooking method, I learnt it from Alton Brown, but if you're interested, I suggest watching "Good Eats" S13E07. It's available on a YouTube channel, but all the videos are blocked in the US, and I suspect Canada too. But if you're feeling lucky... Also, waffle iron = closed space, high-heat sear = might not completely take away all of the delicious fat.
Finally got my Raspberry Pi web server set up. Also trying out Terraria on it with mono running tshock.
Pacific Rim is fucking retarded seriously
Pacific Rim is fucking awesome seriously
ftfy Yes it was a dumb stupid movie about robots punching monsters but if that doesn't make you happy I don't know what will.
ftfy Yes it was a dumb stupid movie about robots punching monsters but if that doesn't make you happy I don't know what will.
The effects were cool as shit and the fact that for the most part, the cockpit scenes aren't postprocessed.
robots are awesome
What the fuck I pay the extra $4 for overnight shipping on my phone case. Figure I'd get it delivered to the office because commercial deliveries happen earlier. It goes from "7/7/2014 by 3:00 PM" to that. Fuck you, FedEx.
I'm thinking of getting Google Drive's 1TB plan for $10 a month, is there any better services that can provide more storage for the same price point? Fast uploading and downloading would be a must but from my experience, Google Drive is pretty fast.
Pacific Rim is fucking retarded seriously
The problem is all the people who went "No, Pacific Rim has a real story trust me it's written good and not just an action movie :downs:" When really it is just an action movie.

[editline]7th July 2014[/editline] Except for anything social media related.
I'm wondering when other services are going to lower their prices because right now google drive is the same price as amazon glacier [editline]7th July 2014[/editline] and you get about 100kb/s speeds to amazon glacier
To be fair they warned you on the speeds. It is called glacier.
Glacier is for long term storage, put backups there. Its like a cloud tape drive almost, similar speeds and use case.
Well... it is tapes. But yea Drive is nearly the same price, might as well. Though I wish Drive had dropbox's client.
Well... it is tapes. But yea Drive is nearly the same price, might as well. Though I wish Drive had dropbox's client.
Drive's client is absolute shit.
The effects were cool as shit and the fact that for the most part, the cockpit scenes aren't postprocessed.
Every single scene was post-processed.
Drive's client is absolute shit.
Yea "Oh you wanted to send a link to someone. lol"
Glacier is for long term storage, put backups there. Its like a cloud tape drive almost, similar speeds and use case.
But tape drives are actually faster than mechanical hard drives.
But tape drives are actually faster than mechanical hard drives.
Don't they have a worse write capacity though?
Well... it is tapes. But yea Drive is nearly the same price, might as well. Though I wish Drive had dropbox's client.
They're the exact same price for anything over 1TB (1 cent per gb), although I'm not sure if google drive has tiers that you have to pay (ie you can't pay for 1.5tb, have to pay for 2tb even if you're not using it, where with glacier you only pay for what you're using) [editline]7th July 2014[/editline] Actually yeah it goes 100gb, 1tb, 10tb, 20tb, 30tb
So my ultrabook takes 7mm drives, but I can fight a 9mm drive in there... tightly. Do you guys think it's worth risking? Like can anything go wrong?
The problem is all the people who went "No, Pacific Rim has a real story trust me it's written good and not just an action movie :downs:" When really it is just an action movie.
I hate when people do that about things they like. You can like things that are just dumb action movies without having to justify it by saying how good the story is or whatever. I enjoy Machete but I'm not going to claim that it's a really well written and intelligent film. It's a movie that's dumb and better for it. (Besides, that movie has a scene where [sp]the lead protagonist pulls a guy's intestines out to use as a swing![/sp])
i don't even know what pacific rim is beyond "a movie"
I hate you Wingless. You're a fucking horrible person for doing that to me. Edited: You too agentgamma. I can't believe you rolled along with this shit.
Robots punching aliens is cool
Don't they have a worse write capacity though?
Do you mean storage capacity? No, tape drives used to be better but are now equal. LTO-6 cartridges contain 2.5TB native and can compress data for a nearly double usable capacity. Or were you referring to the random write? In which case tape drives are terrible. That's why they're used for archival purposes. The idea is you write the entire cartridge in one pass, then when you have a hard drive failure, you restore it all in one pass, too.
I hate you Wingless. You're a fucking horrible person for doing that to me. Edited: You too agentgamma. I can't believe you rolled along with this shit.
i don't see anything in IRC so I don't know what happened
