Why would someone have phonebooks in the year of our Lord 2014?
Why would someone have phonebooks in the year of our Lord 2014?
To have a local directory if the power or internet connection is out?
why does my windows do this
why does my windows do this
Do what? Boost clock speeds? It's a CPU feature, if not all cores are being used, they can be shut down to conserve power, which lowers heat production, which means the other cores can now generate as much heat as they want.
To have a local directory if the power or internet connection is out?
What, do you think my smartphone runs off the wall?
I think he's talking more about the "7.85GHz", which is absolutely wrong unless he's cooling with liquid nitrogen.
If the 3 other cores were shut down, and the clock fucked up for a bit, I could see a core hitting 7.85GHz for long enough for it to register in Task Manager. Too bad his graph view is set to overall utilization instead of logical processors, would give some more info. Hitting 7.85GHz for a second, or under, wouldn't be impossible, I'm just not sure if Intel lets boost frequencies hit that high when other cores are shut down. The ARK page for i5-2500k states 3.7GHz max turbo, but I believe that's for when 3-4 cores are being used.

You're not going to see 7GHz on a turbo boost, even with overclocking. Also, the boost bins on the 2500K are 3.3GHz base, 3.4GHz on all cores, 3.5GHz on three cores, 3.6GHz on two cores, and 3.7GHz on one core.
It's an Intel chip, you're obviously ignoring the built-in wizard-chip, which contains 10^6 miniature wizards that help with overclocking.
I ordered a MiniDP to HDMI adapter and it cost me 15fr. even though I am kinda sure my Mac will die in the next six months because the thermal paste hasn't been changed since I got it and because it's full of dust. They've shutdown our internet connection because we didn't pay our bills from june and/or july and it turns out the bill never came through the post office , anyways we payed it and now it'll take 3 days to reactivate. (currently on an mobile connection)
I'm trying to copy an ISO off a disc, and I'm getting a shit ton of CRC/ECC errors. I'm using IMGburn, is it possible to verify if the problem is the disc, or the drive, or the software?

What kind of disc is it? Could it be caused by some kind of copy protection?
It's a copy of HaloPC. A friend of mine doesn't have a CD drive and wanted an ISO. I have a physical copy so I thought I'd make an ISO for him.
This new steam link filter is annoying, but luckily enough it's easy to bypass with javascript.. it's literally just
document.getElementById("proceedButton").click();

Usually code of practice is to call/email about overdue bills.
we didn't know about it until we called them because our internet connection stopped working in the morning and then they told us that [editline]12th July 2014[/editline] also i swear to god my hard drive is indestructible because i have been running it for 2 years at 50-60C almost non-stop [sp]hopefully i didn't jinx it :([/sp]
[img_Thumb]http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a345/ajackss/ram_usage_zpsfb9ac284.jpg[/img_Thumb] I saw my RAM usage and was a bit surprised. Just doing production 3D work with MAX. Most usage I think I've seen. I recently figured out process priority for applications and it has totally saved my ass from being locked down totally during renders. Somehow I never knew about it all these years.
userscript?
yeah i just put that in my tampermonkey
Working on my low voltage OC. 4.2ghz @ 1.05v right now, but it doesn't look like I'm going to get any lower.
Last time I checked. (Which admittedly has been a while)

The fact that Valve had to implement that is a testament to how retarded some people can be.
The fact that Valve had to implement that is a testament to how retarded some people can be.
The fact that the old "seed a parking lot with USB drives" trick still works is the true testament how absolutely retarded most people are. [editline]13th July 2014[/editline] Last night, I left Prime95 running Blend torture tests while I slept, and I had HWMonitor running the whole time. Temps didn't go past 51°C(123°F) which I established before testing by blocking the venting on top of my case with my hand for a minute. Though, according to HWMonitor, my CPU fan hit 56784RPM at some point. It's still intact, so I'm just going to guess that's a glitch. I should try overclocking it a bit now.
I don't know how many of you guys workout, or have been thinking about it or are too lazy to get into it but want to and so on. Working out is great for a multitude of reasons obviously, and if anyone wanted to look into doing it, this is my workout plan / diet plan if you cared to look at it and perhaps get some inspiration or confidence http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1408696&p=45371932&viewfull=1#post45371932
I was planning on going to a gym and getting a membership today, but car things took longer than expected today. I know the girl who would sign me up, so discount yo.
i just found a document on mouse polling rate from razer that refers to the cursor as your "on screen avatar" http://www.razerzone.com/mouseguide/technology/19

Maybe I'll get off my ass on monday and start doing a gym routine, I can get full machine access for like $5 a month downtown. [editline]12th July 2014[/editline] The checkboxes are greyed out and it wants permission to follow people and post tweets. Guess I don't want Really Big Sky that bad.
Why not just create a new burner Twitter account for it?
Just did, but it's the principle. It's annoying and scumbag-like.
