$60 for a third party battery?
All the batteries I have picked up for my laptops have been under $20 on eBay and have been rather fine
I've seen a lot of those, though I'm hesitant. I don't want to cut a lot of corners on something that could potentially explode and burn off my penis. Another thing, a lot of them are 4400 mAh, when the original is 5200 mAh. The whole reason I'm buying a replacement is to get back the original runtime, so I'll need to keep looking.
Any thoughts on the Intel NUC? I'm looking at getting the 4th gen i3 version for XBMC/general file server.
just sayin' cause the past 4 laptops I've owned have all ran eBay batteries (bought from the US) and in pretty much all of them I have trouble distinguishing which one is in the lappy unless I take it out and check the label and all of them perform to spec
although I am the type to carry at least 1 backup battery to have 2x the stock battery life of any lappy
amazon returns are hilariously fantastic
"microphone has low level hum"
"ok, send it back to us, we'll refund you"
I enjoy Corsair's as well. I grabbed a dead stick of RAM from a friend and it went something along the lines of
"I've got a stick of RAM that does not work in a known good system"
"Here's a shipping label"

I've put together a few of them, and I'd say they're great. A bit pricey, but still decent price/performance ratio. Especially for something ultra SFF and low power. Put together one with 8gb RAM, the i5, and a 500gb Samsung EVO the other day. Thing flies. My boss uses the i3 one with a 2.5" mechanical drive for his security cameras at home.

We love them here. We're using them as low duty computers all over the building.
Looking back at it I don't know if I ever actually finished CB. It's the first time I've watched it since I was pretty young, and the memory isn't great, so I honestly don't know. Well, back to powering through Samurai Jack for some reason.
Took a whole day to get the Onyx running without graphics. Lots and LOTS of unlabled ribbon cables.

There's still four more boards that make up the graphics pipe. I'm running out of space for cables.
CSS Variables would have been nice a year ago when I tried to design a website that basically required page height-x-y, since then I've just scrapped the idea.

I never buy a third party battery unless the one system I have is obsolete when it comes to support. Everything else is new from the original manufacturer's website, and yes I pay full price for them.
Fake batteries make me paranoid.
High quality 3rd party batteries with reliable brands usually costs around $50-60. I would never buy cheap unbranded batteries. Their charge capacities are always crap.
To me, spending a bit more on a reliable battery is worth it because there's less chance of something going wrong that could break whatever it's in.
I don't want to have to replace/repair some expensive device (and potentially lose important data.)
Was checking the prices of a store for a friend

I don't really see the point in gold plated connectors personally. All the cables I use can be found on Ebay for £2 to £3 and work just fine.
it's a marketing gimmick
gold plate my butthole
Thank god for duct tape. Bought a mobile A/C, the hot air tube is rigid plastic, but I have a longer, less rigid one as well, which I need to reach my window. Duct tape them together and hope that fluid dynamics will work like this.

Also how the fix the end of the tube to the insect screen without damaging it :(
The original 2-year old battery in my ThinkPad Edge E325 still has 84% capacity, which ain't bad.
Software upgrades have been giving me the most battery life boost though. I remember when I was getting 3 hours tops out of my battery, with Windows, or 2.5-3 with Linux.
Now I'm doing 3.5-4.5, more if I mess with screen brightness.
It's ridiculous how much my battery life has improved just from running the latest kernels.

Do you have any recommendations for brands?
My lumia 930, last charged 2 days and 4 hours ago with medium usage :v:
my Padfone 2 has great battery life. fully idle it lasts about 6 hours and 30 minutes before running dry, in deep sleep. would recommend!
I pulled my cousin's vita out of storage. It had no batteries and no (good) games, so I put it back, but first I noticed this and was baffled.

The hardcase comes with a little kickstand. So you can like, display it, like it's a piece of art. I've never seen a console so full of itself, with it's proprietary media, massive dimensions, coverage in metal and shiny plastic, abundance of controls, and now this. It's so... pompous.
Then I realized I've been up for an unhealthy amount of time, I'm overthinking stuff, and it's probably for watching movies or something. Who the hell would watch a movie on a screen that tiny, though?

It's useful for if you're on a train/plane. You've probably brought it with you to play some games, so why not use it for movies as well?

It's also useful for those people who buy game consoles just to put them on shelves
