Please don't use any ultra fast 264 presets, they look horrendous. If you're streaming that's acceptable but if you're really going for archiving just leave it overnight or whatever.

Oh, you're actually recording it from games not just encoding it? Don't record to something like 264. Use something like UT Codec. You made it sound like you were just encoding from something pre-recorded.

Well, your going to need to mess with the Graphics Card config files, or else it will default to the barebones "safe" mode (800 x 600, low everything, unchangable).
But if my GMA 950 could run it decently, a 210 will be overkill.

I got a cheap one for emulators and it's quite good at that.
How does Windows 8 know when to use scaling or not? When I first upgraded to the 1080p panel on my 13" laptop, it automatically set the scaling to 200%
