I could run OS/2 but I don't have the proper Indeo codecs. They're too new. :v:
Guess who got a new job.
Wow, my salary has increased by 400%.
And I'm gonna Switch from Helpdesk/Internal Sysadmin to Full time Software developer. In Java (pls don't hit me) :o

Congats! I'm jealous
I'm a bit jealous of anyone who has got a job at the moment. Got another year at least left in college and pretty bored of the write-ups at that.
I had incredible luck.
Basically since Aprenticeships for 4th year students has ended, a wave of hundrets of IT guys are looking for a job at the same time.
I was one of the few lucky ones who got one very early. Most Aprentices will have no work when their contract ends, and struggle to find work suiting them.

His ramblings on current events are best, every third word he writes is "nigger" or "niggers".
Just called like seven bestbuy locations, it was all worth it though. the 7th store was willing to bend the rules and price matched micro center's price on an i5-3570k. Free shipping to my door, and they even used my gift card which made the total just $180.19 for a new cpu. hells yes
[editline]24th July 2014[/editline]
what chassis should I get now? fuck this source 220
late reply, but what do you mean bend the rule?
they're suppose to price match MicroCenter.

I would mention something about AVC, but you'd disregard it.
in the future don't ever call. any employee there can do the price match and transaction.
I'm nowhere near within 25 miles of a microcenter, and that's best buy's policy for price matches. Trust me, the first five or six stores I called informed me of this rule

The best buy I go to is more then 25 miles from a MC and they still match them :/
The best buy I go to is more then 25 miles from a MC and they still match them :/
lucky. they didn't have it in stock either so they're just shipping it to me. Some time between July 29 and August 5
I would mention something about AVC, but you'd disregard it.
What the hell is AVC?
In other news, I tried the Indeo codec and brought the file down to 35mb and the depth up to millions of colors. I'm going to have to see if I can find a codec installer somewhere.
lucky. they didn't have it in stock either so they're just shipping it to me. Some time between July 29 and August 5
oh wow, my best buy doesn't do that :v:
if something is out of stock they say you have to order it online, but the online store usually matches MicroCenter depending on the item
okay seriously though, what's the currently most popular cases for me to choose from? Air 540, Define R4, 750D?
I have a BitFenix Ghost for one of my computers, it's pretty nice
Didn't Bitfenix make a micro-ATX version of the Prodigy? That'd be a sweet case to have. I'd paint mine silver and put an Apple logo in the front and make it a hackintosh.

I love my 750D, but the 500r or air 540 may be more what you need if you're going air cooling.
I'm personally partial to fractal if only because their warranty support is incredible.
Although they're heavy as dicks.

I'm not a fan of heavily soundproofed cases tbh. Meh thermals! (Although they do a damn good job at it)

I like them less for the soundproofing and more because they tend to filter their intake ports p well so you don't have to buy so much extra filters to keep the dust out of your case

Same could be said with the 750d though. 280mm filter on front and 360mm magnetic filter on top. Only downside is no stock filers for the bottom two 120 slots, but I made a base for my case
[editline]24th July 2014[/editline]
Also I'm jealous of your dicks if they're as heavy as a fractal case
does the soundproofing foam on the fractals effect temps and airflow as much as I'd imagine it doing? I don't want a super hot rig

It's not bad at all. I'm just particular and would recommend one of the corsair ones
I finally got to set up our 2560x1080 monitor today. Oh my, I honestly think I'd rather have this than a 2560x1440/1600. The aspect ratio feels so much more natural. I just wish I had one at home to try with games.

About that EOL thing...

As long as the game properly supports it, it's fantastic. I can't go back to 16:9 monitors anymore.
[editline]24th July 2014[/editline]
Although I do have to say I'd enjoy a 3440x1440 one
That's 21:9 right? I wish my Vizio was less bulky, maybe when I get my own apartment

I'd probably end up playing in a 1080p borderless window and then use the rest of the space for other things.
