Radioshack doesn't sell shit for electonic components anymore, so I replaced the 10v 1000uF cap that bulged in my monitor with a 35v 1000uF cap. It's working fine, but should i be worried that it will pop or is it ok to have that headroom? Nobody else sells components like that, and all they had was 35v or 50v
Nobody else sells components like that, and all they had was 35v or 50v
It's completely fine to replace a cap with a higher voltage rating than the original one. Voltages labelled on capaciters are max voltages, not operating voltage.
An hour and nobody said anything about the GPG signature. I had to prove to myself that people just mentally filter those out, and ignore them.
An hour and nobody said anything about the GPG signature. Am I abnormal for using my mouse at 300dpi?
Am I abnormal for using my mouse at 300dpi?
Yes, i use 950 dpi, step it up. Gotta go fast.
Am I abnormal for using my mouse at 300dpi?
I used to keep my G300 around 520 or so, but now with my CM Storm Scout, I'm having to set it much higher and turn down mouse sensitivity in everything because the tracking isn't nearly as good. [editline]26th July 2014[/editline] Or something, I'm not sure what exactly. It didn't feel right until I upped DPI and lowered sensitivity in programs and OS. [editline]26th July 2014[/editline] Don't buy a CM Storm Scout, it actually sucks pretty bad.
Q: Why is the Logi G400s so fucking ugly? I thought logitech had reached the pinnacle of "functional but ugly as sin mice" with the MX518 and it's "it looks like I smashed my mouse with a hammer" look but along comes this ricer trash to take that title. And it's a nice, affordable, and widely available mouse, pretty much the only local option I have. :v:
im so happy i found my g9x, best mouse ever question, do they have replacement cables for it? mines a bit messed up
I have this relatively cheap Dell mouse that does 400-1600 dpi, 2 side buttons, one on each side and I'm still using it after like 3 years of use. I've played plenty of games using it and I like the shape of it in my hand. If I could get a similar kind of mouse, or another one at some point, that would be great.

speaking of mice, on this old sony laptop the touchpad doesn't have the ability to scroll on web pages, the right most part of the pad does nothing when you scroll like on other touchpads and it only supports single touch, what do? anything to install that can fix this? the mouse drivers were vista only and it doesn't work. I also don't want to install Windows 8 on this and have to teach the people that use it more to deal with it.
Yes, i use 950 dpi, step it up. Gotta go fast.
My mouse goes up to 6400 and I have no clue how someone could ever want that. That's over 20 times what mine's at.

I've seen some touchpads that don't have any markings for that and require some multi-touch gesture to scroll instead.
Are you certain that it's supposed to be able to scroll? I've seen some touchpads that don't have any markings for that and require some multi-touch gesture to scroll instead.
the sony one doesn't physically have markings because it was made to look sleek and not have it. I remember when this thing was on vista, you were able to scroll like any other laptop touch pad, I guess it was all driver based and the damn driver doesn't work on windows 7 even though the sony website says it does.

Don't disqualify it from having multitouch just because its old. If its a Synaptics touchpad, its very likely it supports multitouch if you have the correct drivers. Lookup the Device ID in Device Manager to determine what it is and what driver it needs. No guarantee, but its a start.

Synaptics would be a good start.

Supposedly, Synaptics officially released a Windows driver with support for multitouch on all their touchpads.

went into device manager, looked at the mouse, went to details, then hardware id it gave me acpi/sny9008, quick google search finds me a bunch of files and drivers, sweet.

Didn't say anything before because I was busy playing TF2. [editline]26th July 2014[/editline]
My mouse goes up to 6400 and I have no clue how someone could ever want that. Trying to get one monitor running on my integrated gpu and one running on my gtx 275 is a pain right in the fucking ass...
An hour and nobody said anything about the GPG signature. I had to prove to myself that people just mentally filter those out, and ignore them.
I probably didn't even see it, if I haven't posted in a while I just go to the last page since reading a hundred comments of whatever is probably a waste of time.
i was gonna mention something about your signature but i thought someone else would so i didn't.
I was like "huh that's weird" and then forgot about it as soon as I scrolled past it
I was in the middle of recording that huge firefight in Metro Last Light for my LP, and I hadn't reset my recording a while and for some reason my entire desk worth of electronics shut down. My UPS had been tripped. It came up as a "Overload" Even during super heavy work it is typically fine with a game running full on CPU, both GPU's, all monitors, recording, AMP running, all that stuff, it's a beefy UPS, but it still tripped as an overload and my software doesn't show an overload in the history summary. Really frustrating because given the numbers I ran for the filesize, that was a single 100minute file stretching two boss battles and like 3 areas. I tend to restart recording every 30minutes or so but I was so immersed in the game. I'm running a AVIFix function from Dxtory to see if it will work. I think it should do decently since MediaInfo can read most of the details.
VLC has also been able to cover most of my files amazingly. because recording shit like that happens time to time.
I mean usually the problem is the game crashes and the file can't close properly, but my UPS, the thing designed to not cut the power, cut the power. Never seen it cut the power due to overload before, or at least not with it just being my computer. I ran a vacuum on it before and it beeped warning me.
