Shoulda gotten a Xeon. Also, just grab one of the x99 18 core Xeons when they come out. Plus you're looking at double the RAM for ddr4. And iirc the "intel accepted" speed for ddr4 on x99 is 2133?

So I decided life would just be easier if I pinned all my daily programs to taskbar. I suggest it.

Edit: Might be better if I don't grab the whole long ass thing

Well guys, the GTX 275 Facepunch Edition is officially dying... It's served me well for many years more than I thought it would.
Isn't that like what we all do?
die?
Isn't that like what we all do?
Yeah. Gets really boring when this thread goes on a 2 hour dry spell though. Need more megathreads to invade. Which one next?
new finder icon is such a cutie
die?
Wait, you guys aren't already dead?

Too bad.

Birdemic killed me

Once I upgrade from my 580's I'd be up for perhaps trading them around in the community to serve other people.
I bought them over 3 fucking years ago which is insane. That's 200 dollars per year per card. Not that bad when a 200$ card is about equal to them now I think, I forget.
Anyone got a link to the web installer for Visual Studio Professional 2013 with Update 2? Dreamspark forces me to use their secureshit download manager for some reason.
I just download it from http://www.visualstudio.com/downloads/download-visual-studio-vs and then enter the Dreamspark product key later. I don't know why Microsoft insists on using that TERRIBLE "download manager" they're using for Dreamspark. It's completely pointless.
I finally cleaned out my Chinese 400mm f6.3, I finally figured out how to open the rear assembly. Needed to use a strap wrench (Tool for loosening oil filters from cars) to get two seamless looking joints apart

It's even more annoying the fact that only Dreakspark uses it. Not even Dreamspark Pro, afaik (feel free to correct me here).
THe download manager is terrible. Especially the lack of support for Downloading from a non-Windows System.
Thanks microsoft.

Now that you bring it up, I can't remember if dreamspark premium uses it. I remember using the manager for my server 2012r2, but can't remember if I did for my 8.1 pro. I feel like I did though.
Just installed Flight Simulator X. Anyone know of any good (and free) mods that I need to try out?
So when my system shutdown due to the UPS I was only like 5 minutes from the end of the game. How incredible.

Dreamspark is stupid and dumb and dumb and stupid
Dropbox is cool and neat and neat and cool
Is it bad to use iWorks over Office?
no
I personally like libreoffice-fresh more than Microsoft Office.
It just feels better to use than Office (Except for impress. Impress is shit compared to Powerpoint)
Even if the interface wasn't too hot, I'm pig sick of proprietary document formats.
Two things here, OOXML isn't really proprietary. It's a fully adopted ECMA, ISO and IEC standard. OpenOffice and LibreOffice's less-than-perfect implementation is their fault. (I'm not going to hate though, see my next point)
Two. I urge you to look at OOXML and OpenDocument. They are both absolutely insane. Office Suites are the most ridiculous industry right now. They WILL legitimately drive you insane. Seriously. Avoid at all costs, just pretend it's magic, it's the healthiest solution.
The saturation on the new laptop panel is so good that my desktop monitors now look shitty.
Oh well.

I Personally keep all my personal documents in the following file format:
* Plaintext
* Markdown Format
* UTF-8 Without BOM
* Unix LF Linebreak
So far, this has worked really well.

I've been using TeX a lot lately. It can take a lot of work but god do can you end up with some awesome formatting.
