No starbound? or minecraft? oh come on
Their game selection is weird but I'm guessing it's evolved from people doing it and killing their network.
No TS, but okay for Mumble?
I asked why when I bought it and they said they don't actually care as long as it doesn't get ddosed Probably not a good option for torrents though
them terminating your service if you end up with more than one DDoS attack in total seems very easy to abuse. I could imagine some angry guy taking your VPS down by doing that
... Just reinstall the OS.
Why bother going through the effort of reinstalling when you can remove only the tumors?
Was about to hit buy. Then I saw the TOS. ...yeah, I was gonna use it for Torrents. Oh well.
They ban torrents in their ToS, but they advertise torrents on one of their rotating banners at the top.
They ban torrents in their ToS, but they advertise torrents on one of their rotating banners at the top.
Wait what? What? ...What? [editline]3rd August 2014[/editline] Oh. PRIVATE torrents.
That's just an excuse for it to be a seed box.
Seems like it. Honestly I only use private trackers, so I guess it would be allowed? Personally still wouldn't risk it.
Found out my laptop has an mSATA slot. Pretty sweet, now I can keep my optical and hard drive. But... [t]http://i.imgur.com/rS0gKXo.jpg[/t] gg asus. 3 mm long. Works though.
Between soldered on RAM and RAM where you can only see the slot and 2mm of the stick, ASUS is the pinnacle of laptop design [editline]2nd August 2014[/editline] And ROG power jacks. And... yeah

And... yeah
I'll give them some credit. At least they had the decency to to make the entire bottom one lid so everything is easy to get to. Also sharp as fuck as I cut my finger. However, another example is that my laptop apparently has 4 RAM slots according to CPU-ID. The two in the picture are obviously used. I can only guess where the other two are....and I'm guessing that's the other side of the mobo, below the unibody keyboard. Hope I'm happy with 8 GB.
The two accessible two under keyboard is a fairly common design though [editline]2nd August 2014[/editline] There are still far worse though. The current leader for questionable design in the shop is an Acer with no ethernet but WITH an optical
acer and asus laptops suck
I always confuse them for the same brand
Asus should just stick to making desktop components and other computer accessories. Their laptops and tablets breaks down so easily
them terminating your service if you end up with more than one DDoS attack in total seems very easy to abuse. I could imagine some angry guy taking your VPS down by doing that
this actually (somewhat) happened to me. my friends TF2 team gained some unwanted notice because of a couple of people on the team. come match day we had to get a sub so we asked around on the tf2 general on 4chan. someone got mad and ddosed our TF2 server for like an hour. vps company threatened the owner of it (my other friend), said some bullshit on how they couldn't deploy a simple firewall between our box and the outside world. ended up getting terminated because they didn't like my friends criticism of their network.
It was probably a bad idea to ask on TF2G out of all places.
Seems like it. Honestly I only use private trackers, so I guess it would be allowed? Personally still wouldn't risk it.
You could just contact their support and ask. Then again, they probably throw a fit if you don't throttle the connection heavily. I know OVH doesn't give a crap if you have one of their kimsufi boxes. Ramnode asks you to keep it below 20Mb/s, but they told me they didn't care if I ran at 50-100 since I use so little bandwidth.
msi's good right? I hope so, my new one comes in this week
I've never had a problem with them. Their advertisements are stupid, "Military grade components" but they work. EDIT: Their twin frozr or whatever it is cooler works really well too. It's a generic 2 fan non reference cooler, but all MSI cards I've seen with it are really quiet.
I have a MSI branded 780ti and a MSI motherboard, I have no issues with either whatsoever. works like a charm. their mobo software doesn't look very appealing to the eyes, but that's not really a big issue
Why bother going through the effort of reinstalling when you can remove only the tumors?
Because it only takes like 30 minutes, and you end up with an operating system that can be guaranteed to not have weird software implants installed, other than the ones Microsoft or whoever provides your OS, put in there?
Asus should just stick to making desktop components and other computer accessories. Their laptops and tablets breaks down so easily
My T100 has been perfect so far.
My T100 has been perfect so far.
Probably the best priced product I've seen from them with a crappy ips panel, keyboard doc, and office 2013 for $400. Heard the connector is shitty though [editline]3rd August 2014[/editline] Also quad core atom
Probably the best priced product I've seen from them with a crappy ips panel, keyboard doc, and office 2013 for $400. Heard the connector is shitty though [editline]3rd August 2014[/editline] Also quad core atom
Its been plenty powerful, the panel is fine if not exceptional, I don't care about Office, the connector is actually pretty fantastic, by far the most secure connector I've seen on a low price tablet.
Its been plenty powerful, the panel is fine if not exceptional, I don't care about Office, the connector is actually pretty fantastic, by far the most secure connector I've seen on a low price tablet.
Yeah. I'll admit it's excellent for the price. I'm just surprised at the ips at that price point [editline]3rd August 2014[/editline] No matter the quality or resolution. Everything besides the connector was a plus [editline]3rd August 2014[/editline] And the fact that our one in the shop BSOD'd constantly
I'm wondering, what would be cheaper in the long run? To have a Pentium dual core server running 24/7 or just rent one? Right now I'm working on setting up some old acer computer to use as a NAS and allow my dad to watch darts on it as I'll set it up in the living room.
Was about to hit buy. Then I saw the TOS. ...yeah, I was gonna use it for Torrents. Oh well.
Late, but that is a Terrible TOS. Disallowing legitimate services in the TOS is a sign of terrible quality.
I asked why when I bought it and they said they don't actually care as long as it doesn't get ddosed Probably not a good option for torrents though
If they Can't handle DDOS and disallow customers from using things that ~could potentially~ attract DDOS kiddies, then this is a huge warning to stay as far away as possible from it. Edit: Wow the FAQ is so terrible it hurts my brain.
What happens if I send SPAM? If you send SPAM emails on your VPS our agreement with you will be void. We will terminate your VPS immediately, report your contact details to the proper authorities. You will be liable for $500 invoice to cover the IP address cleaning fees and we will not hesitate to submit this to collection agencies. We should all make a skype call/hangout and play that online Cards Against Humanity clone some time
That glow you get at the beginning of a relationship can really turn your life around <3 [editline]3rd August 2014[/editline] It's also a great motivator. "What would he think if I didn't do blah blah blah?"
Algeria is DZ. DZ! Come on! That makes NO SENSE. I know we're on the same side it's just another example.
Pretty sure that's because it's not based off the English name and based off Dzayer (the name for the country in Tamazight.)
