Wow /g/ is really taking the bait lately with all the "Software x encrypts your IP" posts. It's almost Sipwicket worthy.
assuming you are refering to Tox, they have been very strange how else is p2p going to work if you don't have someone's IP address? it's not like your IP address is a huge secret anyway even funnier when someone suggests to use Bleep instead
Woohoo! Music isn't essential for anything I want to do so :D
I just got the last Higher result I'll ever get and a B at Higher Maths means I get to go to uni. Hooray!
I just got the last Higher result I'll ever get and a B at Higher Maths means I get to go to uni. Hooray!
Nice!
We had an exam on IT Security, one of the week's topics was stenography There was 6 questions, and the last one wasn't marked, just there for fun It was a magic eye picture, you had to point out where the hidden image was :v:
assuming you are refering to Tox, they have been very strange how else is p2p going to work if you don't have someone's IP address?
Like Tor?
Call of Duty Ghost was known to be the biggest flop in COD history already. There are more players actively playing BO2 than Ghost
Black Ops 2 is fucking sweet though. Some of the gun mechanics are a bit... off, though. Especially the shotguns.
Like Tor?
i don't think that is strictly speaking peer-to-peer the point of Tox is to be completely decentralised
I'm gonna be honest here. I'd never trust Bleep, and it does not provides superior security and privacy compared to Tox. Mainly because of the following: 1. Jurisdiction in the US. I think most people know where this leads to. The government can just wave a NSL around, and Bittorrent would have to comply. 2. Centralised System. Bittorrent claims to be decentralised P2P, and has the ability to "Encrypt" IP Addresses trough the use of a Central 'Hash -> IP' table, so the other person doesen't know your IP. The main part I call bullshit with is that it would not be P2P since sending Text/Files/Calls would have to go trough a central server. I'd like to have more clarification on this tough. 3. Proprietary Software. Sending confidental content trough a proprietary system? How can we know that it doesen't contain intentional backdoors? I don't trust the word of a company that says their proprietary Software is secure.
i don't think that is strictly speaking peer-to-peer the point of Tox is to be completely decentralised
It's not peer-to-peer, it's onion-routed, with multiple layers of encryption and a setup where it's impossible for any one node to know both who you are, and who you're talking to. Which is something that would be extremely good for a chat network. Not to mention it would have been piss-easy to setup, all you'd have to do is grab Stem from the Tor Project, and build a chat client on top of that. Someone's actually already done a chat client on top of the Tor network - I came up with an idea like a few days ago, and then I ran into a project where someone's actually doing it.
I'm gonna be honest here. Then again the MP7 was legit a broken spray and pray.
i think the vector was more broken
oh god lets not go down the vector jesus fuck
its even worse on hardcore i keep getting yelled at for using it :c
Half the guns in BO2 were broken if you used them correctly. I recall having some Riot Shield setup that was absolutely fucking bullshit. I think it involved being an asshole with the shield, and then quick-throwing a C4 next to them, and blowing it up, since you could just tap a button rapidly to do it all.
i never really get mad at video games but getting quickscoped in cod ruins me for some reason
Current humble flash bundle is Dejobaan, Drunken Robot Pornography is $8 https://www.humblebundle.com/flash If you played the beta a while back, it's basically the same but improved in every way
wtf is National 5? did they change the grades or something?
yeah, Standard Grades are gone now. They've been replaced by National grades with a similar system.
We use a number system from 1 to 6 for grades. 1 = How did you even get this far? 2 = Dumb as hell 3 = Dumb 4 = Meh works for me 5 = Holy shit thats amazing 6 = Probably cheated [editline]5th August 2014[/editline] So I put the garrysmod Server online. Can someone confirm that it works? IP = horusathome.asuscomm.com:27015 Or 91.138.18.16:27015 if the above does not work.

I got a B on my Film Criticism class. That was one of my hardest classes ever, so I'm extremely happy with that.
http://www.whymicrosoft.com/Pages/linux.aspx I hope the guy writing this wasn't Pinocchio, because there isn't going to be any space left in the universe after the nose stops growing. Apparently persistent threats and dedicated attackers can slow your projects and put your IT environment at risk with Linux projects. Except for when the Chinese use the backdoors in Windows to fuck with your company. Also:
However, sometimes your solution is focused solely on server-side operating systems, and that's where Linux falls short.
Really? You're actually trying to fuck with Linux when it comes to servers? They can't be getting this desperate this quickly, Windows isn't even close to being dead yet.
Really? You're actually trying to fuck with Linux when it comes to servers? They can't be getting this desperate this quickly, Windows isn't even close to being dead yet.
Ah yes, Linux falls short at the very thing it's pretty much dominating. Of course.
Linux falling short as a server OS? Did they run out of weed and just start smoking toner?
I'll be honest here, and say that I do know of a few specific use cases where Windows is better as a server, than any Linux distribution, but they're fairly specific, and the second use case I have in my mind is already being worked on (generic small business server with AD, Exchange etc., Zentyal is competing with Windows in that space fairly well, from what I've heard).
So I put the garrysmod Server online. Can someone confirm that it works? IP = horusathome.asuscomm.com:27015 Or 91.138.18.16:27015 if the above does not work.
Works fine with the top IP.

They can't be getting this desperate this quickly, Windows isn't even close to being dead yet.

http://www.whymicrosoft.com/Pages/linux.aspx
I'm gonna go trough this real quick.
Microsoft Future-proofed for the cloud With Microsoft you are not just choosing a single solution provider, you are choosing a trusted business solutions provider and IT advisor. IaaS and PaaS are available on Azure, Office 365 enables great productivity in the cloud, and Ubuntu, CentOS, and SUSE Linux Enterprise Server are all supported clients on the Azure cloud platform.

Linux Clear roadmap to the cloud? Will your Linux provider be able to support your entire infrastructure in the Cloud if the time comes? Does your provider offer a robust group of offerings, including Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS)? Are they focused solely on the private cloud, and can they support Microsoft technologies for your existing Windows, Office, SQL Server and .NET users?
Counter question: What makes Azure better than competing Cloud solutions? I'm gonna be honest and say that I've seen much more Linux based ~Cloud Servers~ than MS/Azure solutions. In production, I have seen a shitload of companies that use AWS, but I have yet to see adoption of Azure, but I worked in a niche branch for the past 4 years.
that Windows Server 2012 has a 195% return on investment (risk-adjusted) over a 6 month period with “reduction in IT infrastructure spend” and “increased server administration productivity” identified as the top cost drivers.
I wouldn't say that using Windows Server makes me more productive. Updating a Server for some reason takes a shitton of time, and navigating the menus is more bothersome than issuing shell commands. On Linux my actions are even self-documenting. When I set up a Linux Server via SSH, I always can save the output of the bash-history file and have a complete list of commands used to install the server.
Security threats? Persistent threats and dedicated attackers can slow your projects and put your IT environment at risk with Linux projects.
The Security of a Linux Server depends on the Sysadmin who's setting it up. The exact same goes for Microsoft Windows Server instances.
Microsoft invests significantly to ensure reliability is built into all its products and services, making our server platform more predictable and manageable.
Having fucked around with WSUS, Exchange 2013, and the Office 365 Control panel, I'm gonna have to say that predictability is something that MS is lacking in many ways. Unless predictability means having to search the MS Knowledgebase to find out why Approving updates does not actually Approve updates on WSUS, and get pointed to use powershell instead of the GUI. Also don't talk about reliability when I have to restart my entire Server when doing an Update. On my Linux Servers, I only have to restart when updating my kernel.
When building a server-side solution with Linux, will there be additional costs and integration issues associated with your 3rd party management tool? Will your solution integrate with industry-leading identity management tools like Active Directory?
Yes, my Solution on Linux integrates as good as on Windows. Thank you very much.
On my Linux Servers, I only have to restart when updating my kernel.
And in a year or two, with kGraft and whatever the other solution was, you won't even have to restart to update your kernel.
I like how they still say "MacOS".
Reset my S3 back to complete stock so I can sell it, Touchwiz is so fucking bad. I'm glad I flashed CM10 the second I got my S3. On the other hand, Sense 6 is my favourite version of Android yet. I prefer it over Touchwiz, Stock, MIUI, ColorOS, Optimus UI.
Works fine with the top IP.
What kind of black magic is this? Why does it work now?
