having 768 on my 15.6 I don't like it as much as 1080 on a friends
friend's asus 15.6 inch has a 1080p IPS display which looked pretty nice and crisp.
Even my Nexus 5 has a 1080p display so I guess I'll aim towards getting a laptop with a 1080p display or better.

Wow I'm 13th on that list..
Oh, and the PHP retardedness I mentioned? Consider this code, from the official docs:
$connection = ssh2_connect('shell.example.com', 22);
ssh2_auth_password($connection, 'username', 'password');
$sftp = ssh2_sftp($connection);
$stream = fopen("ssh2.sftp://$sftp/path/to/file", 'r');
Seems mostly logical, right? Except the docs also say, for ssh2_sftp:
"This method returns an SSH2 SFTP resource"
So $sftp is a resource, not a string. So what do you think that file path looks like?
A clever man would expect them to have overridden the string function on the resource, so that it returns a string like "username:password@shell.example.com:22", making the full URL "ssh2.sftp://username:password@shell.example.com:22/path/to/file". The clever man would be wrong.
The URL actually looks like:
ssh2.sftp://Resource id #5/path/to/file
Because $sftp, in a string context, is "Resource id #5".
That means that, at some point, PHP has to take that string, parse out the ID number, convert it to integer, then look up the resource using that id in order to get whatever information it actually needs.
That's not a bug. That is how it is designed to function. Somebody sat down and built a library that works this way.
Honestly. Anymore I'm not even surprised by shit like this. I've been desensitized to insanity and php is to blame.
I lived with a 18 inch 1366x768 screen for a year and a half, was more disappointed with just how poor the picture looked than the resolution.
This whole twitch thing is hilarious to me.
If you fuckers never streamed tons of licensed music without permission, it wouldn't have been a problem. Twitch has to save themselves.
if i dont have the right to basically run a pirate radio on a video game streaming service then what's the fucking point

Some are moving to UStream which will probably force UStream to change their policy too

Exactly, the moment it becomes mainstream, the moment it becomes noticed by copyright holders and they want to sue people.
I actually wonder why HitBox hasn't had a similar policy change unless it already does

Remember when Swefox was on the top of the list at one point? :v:
anyone know what happened to him after the whole money thing?
I kind of talked to him on and off afterwards, but got to busy with work things and just stopped replying to his messages

It's not popular enough.
It's also not used enough to need to move to HLS.
I find 768p on a 15.6 inch laptop to be passable........

It's passable, but I wouldn't accept it on anything but a decidedly budget laptop these days.

I might have to go that route and get a budget laptop
For whoever said something about recent thinkpads, I haven't had any problems with the T series. Although it's probably the series I deal with least.

Nevermind, it looks like they fixed it. What a shame. But it just paused and unpaused the video fast.
wow we post too much lol
[editline]6th August 2014[/editline]
literally a fifth of my posts are in this thread
Haha, losers. Most of mine are... wait, in the PC building section...
So today I am actual real live content. Our main Pandora's Box server has four hard drives in hotswap cartriges on the front of it. So for backing up the server today, I decided to just pull the drives and pop them in my dedicated backup machine. Apparently sometime in the distant past, the actual hotswap panel was removed in favor of separate SATA lines to a RAID card for more speed. So I had to dig around inside and connect the incredibly inconvenient cables. In a thirty pound server. On my lap. I can't feel my parts anymore.
[editline]6th August 2014[/editline]
Also the server now keeps trying to network boot for five minutes before falling back on the RAID card, no matter what I tell the BIOS.
I feel like people don't like me going into threads and waving my e-peen around.
I think I just came up with an original idea.
Too bad the idea is "telescopic polearm weapon with two opposing blades" instead of something useful.
I tried looking on Google, but I couldn't find any telescopic polearms. Not even sure if it can be built, it would definitely be something that could only be done with modern manufacturing.
