Does that still apply with the y500?
Does that still apply with the y500?
AccuTypes differ on different models. The AccuType on the X131e isn't like the AccuType on the X230. The X230 has a tactile-feedback and the X131e has a softer, albeit a better built keyboard compared to each other.
Time for content: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qbGQBT2Vwvc Don't know if it counts.
Worst part imo was the example with low quality video which was just a pixelation effect. That, and bitrate wasn't described very well.
Fair point on the pain in the ass to install bit - if memory serves I had to use Debian stable to install then update the sources.lst or whatever that file is to get to unstable. Also unless my sense of time is messed up again, Debian only recently decided on what init system to use instead of old ass SysV, so booting fresh installs might be rocky at the moment.
I wish Debian would provide an Install medium for sid, that is straight forward and does not require me to edit the apt sources.list.
I had that issue once ages ago when I tried to set up a pen drive install (which I think may be part of my reason for wanting to use good ol' optical media, hasn't failed me yet), but my primary issue with Red Hat's packages is it's been a pain in the ass to get something installed that isn't 100% GPL or similarly licensed (even mostly opensource things like Quake 3 were annoying). Since I don't quite have the boner for the GPL that the rest of the community does you can see why that frustrates me a little bit.
Yup, it was a pendrive install. Might be that.
You might look into Sabayon - it's basically Gentoo but it ships with a package manager that keeps binary packages for a lot of programs, and unless you're into some niche shit it's probably got everything you want binary (I admit I haven't used it though so you might not have binary packages for ~amd64 where the newer packages are). You still have full access to emerge and layman just in case (though you might not ever need layman, the amount of shit in the Portage tree is insane). You won't break my heart if you decide you don't like it though.
I tried Sabayon some time ago. I really like the idea of having a binary package manager, and the ability to emerge stuff it doesen't have. Back when I used it, I was a bit dissapointed by the lack of documentation on it's binary package manager and the possible conflicts with portage. I might try it again in the future.
Anyone else getting an issue with Windows 8.1.1 where Explorer will freeze and refuse to load properly until you restart?
Decided to clean out my inbox because it almost hit 500 unread messages, updated my filters and everything That clean mailbox feeling
Not gonna question Bad Dragon. But cool, I need to organize mine.

Uh yeah I wouldn't want to know what it feels like, but from experience I bet it'll be twice the stretch.
Fuck this school wifi. I might just buy a cheapo router myself and run a cable for it all the way to the classroom.
Gotta know about the latest in dragon dick technology.
"The Razer of dildos" -/v/

Might just put up with a mechanical for now (going to be really hard) until I can get a 500gb SSD for my desktop, then throw my 240 in it
I'm considering getting something like this for my college work next year. Any good?

Browsing the web was barely possible, if you exclude playing videos. Even a lightweight Linux distro like lubuntu couldn't make it any better. MS Word was painfully slow, and so was the Libreoffice Suite. Trust me. With just a little more money, you can get something so much better.

I want to go to fucking SIGGRAPH! ;_;
Could you recommend something? Possible with an i3.
Whats your budget?
I'd say as much as £250, optimistic as fuck.
I'd say as much as £250, optimistic as fuck.
With £30 more you could get this: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/156-asus-x551ca-notebook-core-i3-3217u-4gb-500gb-hdmi-dvdrw-webcam-wifi-usb3-win-81-64bit I have no personal experience with Asus Laptops below 1300$, So I won't know how asus tends to be in the low budget sector.
