Does anyone know if Nokia are planning to release some new Windows Phones this year? I want to buy either a 930 or a 1020 at the beginning of the year.
Well there is the Lumia 730, 830 and upcoming HTC One with windows phone. I have had my Lumia 930 for over a month now. I think its great. And then there are left some other new windows phone from other oems.
My 14.1" Thinkpad was very comfortable, 13" is definitely the sweet spot. Unfortunately cancer resolutions are more prevalent at that size.
Although I haven't extensively used a 13 or 14 inch laptop just yet, I still find the 15 inch size to be good enough. inb4 i get a 15 inch laptop and hate it because it's too big for reference: I never owned or really used laptops a whole lot like bringing them around, etc. yet so I kinda have no idea what size is good for me..
I actually really like the 13" laptops perfect size imho. All laptops need is more GPU horsepower.
I hate 15.6", it's like bringing a brick along with you, everywhere you go. 13.3" is OK, but 11-12" range seems to be the spot for laptops for me.
You really wouldn't have liked my old 18.4" 10.1lb monster
You really wouldn't have liked my old 18.4" 10.1lb monster
heh.. my moms Sony Vaio is an 18.4-inch Entertainment laptop with a 900p display. Amazing keyboard tho.

so does anyone know why Windows handles printers so terribly
I actually really like the 13" laptops perfect size imho. All laptops need is more GPU horsepower.
13" at 1080p is painful to look at for long periods of time if you don't have laser eyes, though. 14" strikes a good balance between light and medium weight.
so does anyone know why Windows handles printers so terribly
fuck printers
fuck printers
Don't forget to use protection.
For some reason one of our clients has a printer that just stops printing once a week. A complete restart of the MFP device and her computer fixes the issue temporarily. We've tried updating drivers and all that good stuff, it just doesn't want to work for any longer than 6 days at a time :v: I also managed to fix the issue for one document by stopping the Print Spooler service and clearing the queued up documents, but that only worked for one extra document and hasn't worked since.
so does anyone know why Windows handles printers so terribly
Most printer drivers blow. I only know of one printer that works flawlessly under 7 and 8.
so does anyone know why Windows handles printers so terribly
It's not Windows. It's printers. Printers are literally made by Satan himself. Including their drivers (Looking at you, HP)
except xerox business stuff works perfectly, orders cartridges automatically for us, prints extremely cheap with photo quality, drivers never hassle
Printers are literally made by Satan himself. Including their drivers (Looking at you, HP)
Surprisingly not true. One time, I was trying to set up a printer for my grandmother. She wanted to be able to print wirelessly as well, but this was some time ago so she had bought a cheap wireless print server to do that, because it wasn't built-in. Problem is, she also had a desktop which did *not* have Wifi that also needed to print. Well, I managed to get it printing when hardline-connected to the desktop. But not when on the LAN. I could get the laptop to print wirelessly, but not the desktop. Or when I did get the desktop working, the laptop stopped. Long story short, next thing I knew I was arranging CAT5 into a pentagram and lighting black candles. So after I tell the first three demons that I needed to speak to their supervisor, I'm face to face with Lucifer, prince of darkness. I tell him I need tech support. He sighs. "Printers again?" I nod in the affirmative. Well, he starts swapping out a few network cables, reboots all three devices six times each, finds a different set of drivers to use that work better on Vista, and a few more things. I think he replaced the ink cartridge with the blood of a virgin, but that's cheaper to replace anyways. So he gets everything straightened out. We do a test print from the desktop. Works perfectly. We do a test print from the laptop. It works perfectly for about half a page, then it jams, burns out a motor and maybe corrupts the firmware. Satan, Lord of the Damned, shrugs and turns to me, saying "Yeah, I got no idea. Have you checked with Nyarlathotep, the Crawling Chaos, God of a Thousand Forms? Printers are actually his department, I just do marketing for Apple." PS: Yes, it was an HP, why do you ask?

Everything else smaller feels too small, and most 15" Windows laptops(Y500 I'm looking at you) have been so lardtastically fat and heavy that they weigh more than a 17" MacBook Pro and are nearly 3 times as thick.
Maybe I can survive all of college using my phone or getting a cheap tablet like a Nexus 7 2013 w/ a bluetooth keyboard and maybe use Office 365 if they release the Android app for tablets.
what kind of tiny baby hands do all of you midgets have that a 15" the size of the y500 is considered large
oh boy I spilled orange juice on my laptop and now the keyboard doesn't work I wrapped it in a towel and I'm gonna leave it overnight, hopefully it's fixed tomorrow
oh boy I spilled orange juice on my laptop and now the keyboard doesn't work I wrapped it in a towel and I'm gonna leave it overnight, hopefully it's fixed tomorrow
Remove the keyboard and clean with alcohol. But not with Bourbon, that's for drinking
Remove the keyboard and clean with alcohol. But not with Bourbon, that's for drinking
I can't at the moment, I'm not at home so I don't have access to any tools. I also noticed my mouse wasn't working either, hopefully the mouse is just dead (spilled juice on that too lol) and not that the usb ports are fried.
what kind of tiny baby hands do all of you midgets have that a 15" the size of the y500 is considered large
I kinda do think 15 inch is large
... So i went back to Acronis, made a 800+ GB image, and unless i'm doing it wrong, pretty fucking upset i can't even unpack/extract the damn image to the fucking drive - WHERE I GOD DAMN PUT IT! Where is there no simple program in the world, that can just copy a damn drive! [editline]14th August 2014[/editline] *Frustration*
I kinda do think 15 inch is large
sounds like you have tiny baby hands
don't know if im late but here's some content http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1417609
my post on that thread
I was in the market for a laptop for college and litterally was about to drop two grand for a MacBook Pro. what I've learned in this thread, don't make a stupid ass baiting thread like this don't be broke buy a cheaper windows laptop instead and get a new gpu for the PC at home instead of using this fucking geforce 210
that thread can also be made into a simulator..
what kind of tiny baby hands do all of you midgets have that a 15" the size of the y500 is considered large
I really can't do below 14" for high usage.
sounds like you have tiny baby hands
i did handle a 3 inch potato android phone for 2.5 years, used it as my computer, typed entire essays on it.
