Just adblocked the GMF and Rust sections.
For some reason now, the site looks more peaceful.
Holy shit, Just had a meeting. I thought it was an ordinary meeting. What I witnessed was 2 hours of intense corporate Shitflinging, name calling and corporations pissing each other in the face on a legal level.
Oh and don't forget the hordes of lawyers sent into battle.
Truly amazing.

That's Glengarry Glen Ross shit right there.
I finally used my mouse sized brain for something!
My new rig's DVD drive was not working, tried everything from regeditting to fucking around in the device manager, nothing worked. So I opened that beast up and figured out the ATA cable wasn't even plugged in! What a bunch of lazy fucks that built my computer! Well I fixed it now and it registers it fine so I feel proud even though I shouldn't for such a small god damned thing :v:

Why didn't you check device management & BIOS first?
Why didn't you check device management & BIOS first?
Because I am an idiot and didn't check that first :v: Also I DID check the device manager and my tired brain kept thinking that the hard drive was the DVD drive.
I even went forth and tried populating the drive because as I said I am an idiot.
[editline]21st August 2014[/editline]
What does populating a drive even do?

You should watch lawyer dramas like Suits
You should watch lawyer dramas like Suits
watching drama evolve between lawyers is amazing.
People calling each other words, I have never even heard of before and had to look them up in a dictionary to see what they mean.
To me it looks like 2 children in expensive suits whining at each other, competing who can yell the loudest, to win an argument.
Trying Vice City again for the first time in like 6 years. Apart from the frame rate being 400fps making some visuals go nuts (clouds, water, HUD elements blinking fast as shit) it runs pretty well.

I wonder how my 210 will handle it...
Spent 45 minutes repairing a DVD player earlier, did make me wonder how much technology has been thrown away over the years that is totally repairable. Only issue with my player was the fact that a wire going to the actual drive had been dislodged and simply needed reconnecting to get it functioning properly again. I imagine most people would of seen that the drive didn't open and chucked it.

You need to set Vsync in your Graphics cards drivers for it to work properly, otherwise the game will mess up with the frame limiter off.

If a GMA950 "GPU" can handle it fine, your're good.

I have first hand experience with boats being broken with vsync off. It essentially halves their speed.
Same sorta bugs in SA, boats are fine but swimming is uselessly slow
Driving school is also impossible to finish (can't barrel roll, 2 wheel and a few other things)

I think there is a mod to fix the driving school, not 100% sure. Lemme check

You gotta have both the vsync option and the frame limiter options on.

We apologize for the lack of warning regarding the SteamID format change in today’s update. It was our intent to give the community a heads-up before the change was released, but it was missed.
The change was made to update TF2 to use the current SteamID format, which most other games on Steam and Steam itself uses. You will find that you can now use SteamIDs rendered by these other locations in your interactions with the engine. The engine will still recognize the old format, though, so your current server ban lists should still be valid.
The conversion equation has already been posted by a community member, but here it is again:
Old: STEAM_0:A:B
New: [U:1:B*2+A]
Example: STEAM_0:1:1234 —-> [U:1:2469]
We’re sorry for the problems this may cause while you update your scripts to use the new format. It was not our intent to disrupt your servers.

God fucking DAMN IT Valve
I had to do a build in a 900d today with an i7 extreme, eatx board, and a 760. For gaming. No water cooling either. It felt so wrong.
I convinced my mom to let me purchase a pair of M50x's and pay the difference back later.
Excited, kind of tired of my D2000's after like 6 years.
What?
I got a 5.1 surround setup of studio monitor speakers and a sub and have never looked back at headphones again.

Except I suppose for travel

These are for taking with me out. I have a semester of working at an easel and working at a computer lab. I use speakers for my editing and audio work for my videos. I still will use headphones for my recording work since I need to listen and do voice work.
Yeah I for some reason didn't even think about that at first.
But serious, those are really good headphones. The studio at my school uses a few pairs of them and they sound fantastic.

Make sure to do a proper audiophile bass test.
I planned on getting the blue version. Look so sexy and not much more than the other ones. I also wanted the white ones, but I feel the white version would only work well... if I were black. Because frankly, I don't think they'd look good on me.
Also I saw JesseCox had a pair of the blue/tan version and they look so fucking nice.

I regret not making the jump to i7. so bad performance in virtualization
I regret not making the jump to i7. so bad performance in virtualization
Depending on what you're using the VM for, an i7 won't make a big difference (unless of course, you run 4+ VMs at a time or need multiple threads). RAM, disk drive speed, and video performance tend to be bigger bottlenecks.

I regret not getting a CPU with VT-d support
