WinDirStat is the other big one but it always crashed on me so I switched to SpaceSniffer
I've never had it crash on me.
dafuq, even my laptop i5 has it. I thought of all things, an i7 would be the one to definitely have it.
I'm not sure what Intel smoked when they added VT-d support, but my i5 4670k doesn't have it, yet the 4670 does. making the tough choices, unlocked or VT-d? intel please
Isn't VT-d just the direct IO stuff, with an IOMMU, so you can for example pass through one of your GPUs to a VM?
I thought the regular virtualization extension for Intel was just VT, or something.
Hell, I don't know, I haven't touched Intel CPUs in a long time.
Well I have that 'problem' too. The difference is that my brother that was complaining, not my parents. But I know his logic, 500W power supply means that it always use 500W...
But the thing that makes me really mad is that he claimed that hibernating the pc is consuming power, because it is equal to sleep. Again, his logic is that it is 500W, if its hibernating it still consumes power and it will consume a lot of power
He is correct, in a stupid sort of way. Some components never turn off unless you unplug it like the clock (duh) and whatever circuit watches for a power button press. Also the NIC if you have Wake On LAN enabled.
In total, these probably use 2-4 watts AT MOST though. If you compared a monthly bill from when you did or didn't unplug it, there would be a larger margin of error than the amount of power you use from the computer being turned off/hibernate.
I'm all for going green and saving some cash, but this is picking pennies off the street tier shit.
welp, apparently only using 1 and 2 cores will still give the stuttery performance. lags my system out which of course lags the guest OS out too.
I think it's time to move over to KVM instead, apparently that has much better performance
Every time I have to do a system restore or other major system change:

They also used to be so much more fullscreen, which is fucking annoying.
Figured I'd ask here too just in case some of you guys with the old hardware don't cruise the trading thread. I'm looking to buy a keypad for my old mechanical keyboard, specifically a Monterey KP110 pad for a Siig Minitouch/Monterey K110. I'm really hoping Mips has one in a bin somewhere. >.>

I never quite fully understood what the three progress bars on the left were for.
Disk activity, actually quite nice to have.
So write progress to disk, read progress from install media and I guess the third is a buffer.
third is how much hard disk space you have left

Nope. Any keyboard that people find as "specialty" now costs too much for me to find for free in a bin somewhere.

Copy progress for a single file/overall installation progress (usually it never worked)/total disk space.
Honestly, I only used it as an indication of "has this shit stalled or not"
Speaking of, computers without HDD indicators can be quite frustrating.
For those who have KitKat 4.4.4 on a Nexus 5, how well is your camera working?
Uhh it's working!

The third was remaining space on the hard drive you were installing to.
I miss those old installers, I thought that 3 bar thingy on the left was pretty cool.
Spacesniffer, makes a big grid of every file and folder on your hard drive, scaled by their size
Xilinx tools don't do that!
...they're just multi-gigabyte packages for not much reason.
Realtek's drivers still do that. Since even their website is stuck in the 90's

A bit late, but even my i7 860 has VT-D, why did intel nerf it on their newer stuff?

My i5 2500k doesn't have VT-d but my i5-3330 does. My i7 4500U doesn't, but its really just a fancier energy efficient mobile i5 so I'll let that slide.
I have no clue what arbitrary measure they use to determine what processors get what features.
Rock paper scissors
So I went to a Lenovo Vibe festival thing.
I won swag from an operator that was for some reason marked with "Sochi 2014" branding - guess they had leftovers from that.
Also got swag from Lenovo - A mouse, a t-shirt, and an umbrella.
They asked me to wish Lenovo happy 30th birthday, I wished for them to fix the trackpoint buttons :v:, although I fucked up and called it a mouse because I could only remember 'the clit' at the time, and calling it that would've been rather inappropriate.
Also the DJ was using a MacBook.

I have m50s and they're fantastic. Some say they're overrated which I can't say much about but the sound is fantastic and they feel great.
Highly recommend.
Also there was a mechanical bull and I tried to ride it and got rekt.

They are arriving very soon. I keep looking out the window. I'm so excited to have new cans to work on. I'll probably use my D2000's for listening to electronic music since they have 50mm drivers and wide bass.
But they are so worn out. It's like wearing a tattered pair of jeans. They can be comfortable, but messy and not something you'd wear out in public.

What the fuck uses this. All I can think would be one of those portable chargers that run off AA batteries, but they'd normally just use a regular 5v jack
