Sooo college orientation is tomorrow.
AFAIK no one from my graduating year in high school is going to my college, I expect to pretty much not know anyone at all there.
Well then, I guess I have to go meet a bunch of new people tomorrow!
Ah, at least you're not flying 5 hours away to study.
Out of curiosity, where are you going and studying?

My bad, go to "Playback locations" (right above traffic locations) and click on the thingies (excluding "Youtube Watch Page").

I thought I only went 2 hours away from home, then "home" moved literally to the other side of the country.

Well it would be interesting to see how living in a dorm room is like and such but I know it's costly and didn't want to be in a ton of student debt. Home is probably nicer anyways.

Someone please convince me to not start saving up for an x99 setup. There's absolutely no reason for me to get one, but I really want to.
70 hours ON SHITFUCKING ROCKETS
I remember when we were launching little Estes rockets or watching Star Trek (we saw Nemesis in theaters). I wonder what happened to the rest of the gang...
Edit:
Plus, dude was always a workaholic, and if he managed to get a Masters in rocket science in 5 years (normally needs 6 IIRC), he was busting his ass even more through school. He's probably thriving in it.
I'm so sorry.
I'm so sorry.
We actually liked it at the time. It was really only in hindsight that it sucked - and it really only sucked because they took what was supposed to be an independent movie, and shoved it into the Trek 'verse as a quick money grab.
Really though none of the next-gen movies were good. Nemesis was rubbish, Insurrection was crap, Generations can go fuck itself, and even First Contact was mediocre at best. The series was fucking amazing, but they didn't translate it to film well, while TOS adapted much better to the big screen.

In my quest for freedom and independence, I moved out into an apartment that I rent with 2 roommates in Toronto. (I'm from Vancouver originally)
Turns out that freedom and independence lacked financial independence...bit more than a minor problem >.>

I like meeting new people. It's fun.
This.
I have a list of people I'd like to meet from FP at some point in my life.
Not certain I'd go that far, but I do enjoy meeting people quite a bit.

Fuck you microsoft. this is not a PC!
This is Fucking Windows Server 2012 R2 running on a Dell Poweredge in a Datacenter FFS. Don't pull this shit on me!
Goddamn I wish MS weren't trying to streamline their shitty decisions onto other products.
One of the many reasons I regret fucking up college the first time around. Probably for the best though, led me back to computers.
It would be even more funny if it was on a MacBook.
Not really, a MacBook is a PC, a server isn't. (Unless you ignore what the P in PC stands for)

It legitimately blows my mind that Windows still requires servers to restart for anything that isn't a kernel update, or something more critical (IE nothing).
Desktops? I can deal with that. Servers? The fuck are you doing mate?
I could understand if it forced certain applications running to be restarted to run on the updated stuff, but blanket restarting? You are doing something wrong.

Obviously too much work when a power cycle can solve everything
[sp]also please no metro on my servers[/sp]
If you server has a GUI you are doing it wrong.
But how else are you going to track IP addresses using visual basic?
If you server has a GUI you are doing it wrong.
I agree, but there's no good OSS Substitute for Creating and managing an AD forest.
And no OSS project will ever come close to how beautiful and resource hungry MS Exchange Server 2013 is.
Seriously 12GB RAM is barely enough to start the software.
[editline]2nd September 2014[/editline]
And if you mention installing only the Core and then manage everything trough powershell, I'm gonna tape your nipples to your forehead.
Theres an Emacs plugin for that, and it can do it in 128meg.
But Windows is a requirement. I can't just change the OS.
Guys do you like my SPEED DEMON?
What's the highest resolution front facing camera on a smartphone these days?
Thew OnePlusOne has a 5MP front facing camera, I guess that is the highest but it doesn't mean it is the best (unless it actually is very good).
Its alright, until you zoom in.

I'd still use the back cam for a face shot though.
Theres an Emacs plugin for that, and it can do it in 128meg.
I never really noticed but Emacs can be used as a webserver, and then you can script the serverside of a webapplication using lisp.
I don't know why you want to do that, but you can do that.
Oy vey service guy finally managed to cable every one of my servers onto my firewall. Only took them 3 days.
Not certain I'd go that far, but I do enjoy meeting people quite a bit.
I like meeting people, but you... things, are most certainly not people.
This.

Heh I've met some of them already in Toronto this summer :v:
No 14-year-olds weaboos with gas masks, just casual people. It was good.

I like how doing something simple like making a mailbox for a user is like writing a paragraph. Although once you have a couple scripts, doing things through powershell isn't so bad.
One thing that blows my mind is that Sharepoint 2013 requires like 16 GB of RAM bare minimum. That's the only reason the company I'm was at is still on Sharepoint 3.0 and has system with Server 2003.
Like seriously. Its like a glorified wiki and document management system with AD and Office integration. WHY DOES IT NEED SO MUCH.

Be thankful for your device cameras!
Looking for school laptops, budget is 700 eur and i'm considering a thinkpad S440, y/n?
I wish I wasn't so shit at talking on the phone. Just been asked for my phone number and my mind went blank. I've had it for ten years. As soon as I got off the phone I said it straight away without a problem.
I've got 3 active sims and for some reason I can only remember the phone number to one of them :(
I read this and thought I was in The Sims megathread and thought a new feature was that you could phone your sims.
