I read this and thought I was in The Sims megathread and thought a new feature was that you could phone your sims.
Threadception.
I like how doing something simple like making a mailbox for a user is like writing a paragraph. Although once you have a couple scripts, doing things through powershell isn't so bad. One thing that blows my mind is that Sharepoint 2013 requires like 16 GB of RAM bare minimum. That's the only reason the company I'm was at is still on Sharepoint 3.0 and has system with Server 2003. Like seriously. Its like a glorified wiki and document management system with AD and Office integration. WHY DOES IT NEED SO MUCH.
Microsoft is the world champion in designing software that consumes incredible amounts of ram without having to use memory leaks.
Now running a Snapshot version of Cyanogenmod, upto 4.3.1 now but I'm really getting the feeling the end is neigh for updates on my S3. Hasn't been a stable release of Cyanogenmod on my device since late last year. I also tried updating to the nightly but my phone failed to install it.
I might replace my iPhone 5S once Android gets a serious performance boost. Android L doesen't look too bad, and I'm interested to see where Android is heading. I'm mostly interested in android again, because I can run my Programs written in Go on Android, which is fucking amazing. [editline]2nd September 2014[/editline] Still curious what Apple has to show. Don't give a fuck about the iPhone 6, gimme a nice mac mini refresh. [editline]2nd September 2014[/editline] Apple fix this pls.
Microsoft is the world champion in designing software that consumes incredible amounts of ram without having to use memory leaks.
MS's software design ignores cost, as they assume their biggest customers are datacenters and big business... By using RAM as a giant HDD cache, they speed up their programs significantly. Nice for datacenters, and servers with slow HDDs with lots of RAM. According to their documentation, MS SQL actually tries to cache the entire database into RAM if it is able to. If it isn't, it'll fill up all your RAM anyway.
Don't give a fuck about the iPhone 6, gimme a nice mac mini refresh.
Yeah, seems kinda weird that the Mini doesn't have an SSD option yet. Something else that I'd like to see from apple: iPod Classic refresh. It will probably never happen though.
Yeah, seems kinda weird that the Mini doesn't have an SSD option yet. Something else that I'd like to see from apple: iPod Classic refresh. It will probably never happen though.
The Mac Mini hasn't seen a single update since 2012.
The Mac Mini hasn't seen a single update since 2012.
This makes me think it's going to go the way of the old Mac Pro.
If they updated the Mac Mini and gave it a dedicated gpu I'd consider getting one.
A GT 850M would be pretty sweet in one of those things. Great entry to the Mac ecosystem and Big Picture/steambox potential.
This makes me think it's going to go the way of the old Mac Pro.
They'll turn it into a tiny trashcan?
They'll turn it into a tiny trashcan?
I'm imagining more of a hockey puck.
I'm imagining more of a hockey puck.
200% sales increase in Canada
They'll turn it into a tiny trashcan?
God I hope not. I hope it will be flat as fuck, so I could cleverly hide it somewhere.
God I hope not. I hope it will be flat as fuck, so I could cleverly hide it somewhere.
If it was a smaller version of this I'd be all over that shit.
They'll turn it into a tiny trashcan?
An ashtray, maybe?
An ashtray, maybe?
that is brilliant.
God I hope not. I hope it will be flat as fuck, so I could cleverly hide it somewhere.
Make it book sized. Then you can place it on a book shelf. [editline]2nd September 2014[/editline] Well, I guess it sort of already is.
New school, new class, new people. Somehow the conversation went to cameras. Mine can film 720p/30fps or 1080p/24fps. One guy mentioned his camcorder does 120fps "but it is pointless because human eye can't see over 60fps." I mentioned that I could argue with him over that for a long, long time and the only reason he can't see over 60fps is because his screen is 60Hz.
Speaking of college, I don't want to end up being the village idiot again. Except I'm always the go-to person.
Speaking of college, I don't want to end up being the village idiot again. Except I'm always the go-to person.
The thing about college is that the village idiot usually doesn't hang around too long.

Whats the purpose of a phantom flex if the eye can't see 5,000 fps huehuehdundfurnriunrinr go fuck yourself.
Oh god, who the fuck puts the production signing key in version control? Why? WHYYYYY?
Is it possible to invalidate it and get another one?
Oh god, who the fuck puts the production signing key in version control? Why? WHYYYYY?
I sure the app isn't published yet because then you can just generate a new one [editline]2nd September 2014[/editline]
Is it possible to invalidate it and get another one?
It'll break updates for everyone who already installed it, and google play will probably prevent you from uploading something with a different key
It'll break updates for everyone who already installed it, and google play will probably prevent you from uploading something with a different key
Google Play can't migrate apps? Even if you inform Google that the key has been potentially compromised due to it having been stored in an insecure location?
Google Play can't migrate apps? Even if you inform Google that the key has been potentially compromised due to it having been stored in an insecure location?
that isn't google's problem, that's your problem should have been more careful with your keystore
Google Play can't migrate apps? Even if you inform Google that the key has been potentially compromised due to it having been stored in an insecure location?
Their official stance is basically "tough luck, delete the app and publish a new one"
how do i get a job as the office IT guy without an IT degree? i hate working at a grocery store, i'd rather spend my time upgrading people's adobe reader
how do i get a job as the office IT guy without an IT degree? i hate working at a grocery store, i'd rather spend my time upgrading people's adobe reader
I've been wondering the same so now I'm going to school for IT and working at a shitty shop
I got a devops job with no degree straight out of college. You just need to show your abilities somehow.
Go into random IT office -> Install a printer succesfully on the first try -> Become IT God. (also, get the job)
