The problem with the extreme feminists who go on about oppression on some sort of moral crusade is it devalues the entire movement, even if they are only a vocal minority.
Analogy: The majority of Muslims live a peaceful, respectable life, yet are subject to extreme racism in large parts due to the actions of extremists. The extremists are only a vocal minority, but it's enough to sway lots of people against Muslims (see rise of UKIP etc).

I'm on the same boat here. In my gender class, the teacher literally talked for like 10 minutes about how violent video games cause kids to pick up guns and shoot people out of frustration. I swear, it's a talent to be able to fit so much sensationalist bullshit into one speech.
Like the story was that this kid wanted to be with this girl, and of course because all women are oppressed, the kid should get the girl but because the teacher stopped him he didn't understand why he could not get with this girl so because he was playing violent video games, he decided to go out at night, pick up a gun, and shoot down a school.
Like who even believes this shit. I could go on.
This might be worse than the cultural anthropology class I took where everyone was in a big anti-GMO anti-industry women-are-oppressed white-privilege jerkcircle where all they did was complain and the arguments never looked at both sides of the coin.

If you're talking about me, I'm doing electrical engineering. I'm required to take a few selected courses that count towards "diversifying" your education and this sociology courses was one of them and I didn't think it would be like this

There are certainly legitimate issues, particularly in the US. However, many people take it way too far - mostly those who treat "social justice" as a trend to hop onto, a clique to join and exclude others, who aren't as socially-minded as they, from. Those people tend to get caught on an extremism treadmill - they get attention and praise from their peers by being more "devoted" to "the cause", which leads to things spiralling well beyond realism.
If you want to talk about gender issues, focus on the real ones. Rape is an issue - for both genders. It's more common for women, but far harder for men to get any justice for. Laws restricting women are a problem - anti-abortion laws, anti-breastfeeding laws, and so on. But there are also some cases where it's against women - I could be drafted at any time, why shouldn't women be subject to that same law? False accusations of rape also can be the one case of guilty-until-proven-innocent - and yes, it does happen, although self-described feminists like to pretend that it does not.
There's also a problem that many feminists talk about the problems, but few talk about solutions. Awareness of the problem isn't going to magically fix it. I'm already sold on the problems existing - unless you have solutions, I don't have time for you.
There are certain things that will immediately make me disconsider everything else you say on this subject. If you tell me to use some new invented pronoun, you can go fuck xirself. If your proposed solution, or your rhetoric, involves punishing men instead of promoting women, fuck you. If you refer to it as a war or a crusade or anything that hinges on tribalistic tendencies, you're just making it harder for the rest of you to be taken seriously. If you talk about "the patriarchy" the same way others talk about "the illuminati" or "the freemasons" or "the jews", I will ignore you just as hard as if you had said any of those.

This is exactly what I'm talking about in that last sentence, yeah. You've got people expanding the definition of "rape" to include acts that are definitely not (but it's rape because they find them sort of offensive!) or diverting "cultural appropiation" from racism, which suddenly means that it's racist and culture-erasing for a white person to have dreads or shake their ass at 60hz.

That's exactly my biggest problem with all of this combined. Have your little echo chamber, circlejerk blaming all your problems on everyone else, using it as an excuse to bully people, etc, etc. But the second you come around and start becoming the vocal minority (And sometimes a fucking majority) for a group of innocent people (Transgender, Austistic, Rape victums, etc) that's when you need to fuck off because you are doing nothing but hurting other people who are trying to actually live their lives by presenting them to the world in the worst possible form.
