I am probably make myself gonna look stupid here, but is there a way to run a VM on Android? I'd only use it for mapping with Hammer on the go.

Emulating another CPU architecture is slow, even on a strong computer let alone a phone.
and emulating hammer on top of that on an android arm device
Oh yeah, forgot completely for some dumb reason that phones have a totally different architectures.
Don't some newer phones and tablets have intel CPUs in them now? I wonder if you could do anything special with those...
Rude...
Perfect example of Finnish people trying to English, though. [editline]7th September 2014[/editline]
Don't some newer phones and tablets have intel CPUs in them now? A Windows 8 tablet would be able to handle Hanmer without a problem. Compiling and running the map well would be a different story.
Don't some newer phones and tablets have intel CPUs in them now? I wonder if you could do anything special with those...
There's a more flagship android phone with an Intel proc in it. Can't remember which one. It didn't do terribly against ARM, but it wasn't as good
Isn't x86 really hard to emulate on a non x86 CPU?
Welp, it's closing in on zero day for college applications, and I still can't figure out what I want to do. I was thinking something with either computer science or computer engineering, because I have a fairly good understanding of computers and have built & programmed probably over 60 arduino projects. But then there's also the side of me that wants film school and to direct and shoot films. (I've been doing that for a while already) And then there's another part that wants to go into music, because I really enjoy composing scores for films. Anyone here in any of these fields professionally? My school guidance counselor just told me "you gotta make up your mind on something".

Realistically speaking, you have an entire first year to decide - it's all introductory courses and all that jazz.

So the SSD came yesterday, why did i not get one sooner? I threw it in a 1.7GHZ core 2 duo laptop and it flies along. Also, i got an acronis true image HD 2014 key with it. Who wants it?
did nvidia skip the 8xx series for desktop cards? are we just on to 900 series? WHY???
did nvidia skip the 8xx series for desktop cards? are we just on to 900 series? WHY???
Because the 800 series was reserved for laptops, and Nvidia wanted to differentiate the two.
Because the 800 series was reserved for laptops, and Nvidia wanted to differentiate the two.
Why not just add an M like they've always done?
Why not just add an M like they've always done?
Same reason my name isn't Martin II; because it's their product and their choice for a name.
Why not just add an M like they've always done?
There's still 9xxM cards fyi Benchmarks I've seen are for 980/970 and 980m/970m http://videocardz.com/52166/nvidia-geforce-gtx-980-gtx-970-gtx-980m-gtx-970m-3dmark-performance Was the release between 7xx and 9xx just longer than usual?
Why not just add an M like they've always done?
If they just did that, they would potentially have to deal with a dissonance in naming schemes where the next generation laptop GPUs were 900-series and desktop GPUs were 800-series because of how early the 800-series laptop GPUs were released

Are Ti cards usually a lot faster? I don't follow nvidia. Articles are saying 980s come out in 2 weeks.
Think of them like the turbo version of the card [editline]7th September 2014[/editline] The 780Ti will be faster than the 980, but the 980 will be faster than the 780
The 780 Ti isn't that much substantially faster than the 780, and yet the 980 can't even outperform it. To me, that implies that the 980 series won't have a significant performance improvement at all.

And to boost this idea that I can avoid them entirely and wait for the next series of GPU, the performance numbers are really not that great.
I'm on a 6950, time for an upgrade methinks. At least for Witcher 3. And GTAV/MGS5
