think it will take "man tar"?
man tar is a valid command for man. not tar
Referring to the tar comic...Why is it believed to be so hard to remember $(tar -xf FILE)? If you're a shell user, it should be a fundamental command every shell user should know. [editline]I spout /dev/urandom[/editline] Unless you take your software packaged like a fscking casual.

Also man tar if I need to.

Well, today a few IT guys walked into my friends computer lab and claimed that "someone in this computer lab intentionally took down the school servers and network!" this is a community college, mind you. so all the elevators (what??), wifi networks, payment servers (so no meal cards/credit cards worked, cash only), the HVAC systems SOMEHOW, and various other things. so basically everything in the school closed down and we all left at 12. in other news, i saw george r. r. martin in his purple model s while hanging out downtown.
dude what
CEO of the company I work for flew from Germany to Switzerland just to have an interview with me.
Interview went great! No one flew from Switzerland to meet me, but the CIO liked me enough to pass me on to the final interview. It's a five hour drive, in the same location and city I'll be training(5 weeks), but on the plus they are putting me and my wife up in a hotel the night before my interview. I really hope I land this gig, because it would be really good entry level experience. They are an IT service company for a bunch of Enterprise level businesses and banks that does everything from help-desk,to System Administration as a Service, Server-infastructure and deployment . I'm stoked.

So my apartment rolled out a new website for managing rent and service reqs and stuff. I go to fix my auto-pay (which broke like everyone elses), and to see if it was any less shitty than the old site. Password has a max length of 11 characters. I try to enter an 8-character password, it still fails. Turns out when they say "should contain letters and numbers", they really mean "should contain ONLY letters and numbers". Dear lord of darkness, they managed to make it shittier.

I tried to pay my rent a day early, turned out the primary account for my apartment had been setup as my bum of a roommate. I had to request them to change it to my email, entered all my banking info, processed the payment, got an email receipt, the money left my account...and then was returned 12 hours later. I tried again, and it was still returned. I talked to the office about it they asked me to submit it a third time. This time the payment didn't get returned for almost 36 hours, but their system said I hadn't paid yet. Because their shit didn't work, my rent was late. I'd rather pay online than use checks since I don't use them for anything but paying rent and I've gotta pay for them. I haven't even bothered with trying the online payment since.

On a side note, ug, RISC assembly is painful to write.
So today in class, it was in a computer lab with a bunch of nice Dell desktops and the first assignment for this particular course was to email the prof, write some stuff in the body, download a file, compress it and attach it onto the email and send. So the classmate beside me was having issues attaching the compressed file. He was using Internet Explorer and Outlook (the school provided email address). Like when he tried to attach the file, it just wouldn't upload. I suggested to use Chrome or Firefox. He switched to that and it worked. That's right, fucking Microsoft can't make Internet Explorer and Outlook to work together today. gg
Ugh, my self-signed SSL cert that I made with my CA, is SHA1, and I can't even remember how you generate certificates like that anymore. Took like 2 days to get it working the last time I did it. Might just grab a StartSSL cert. Chrome is going to start whining about SHA1 SSL certs, with expirations somewhere like 2017+, but that's going to move down I think, in the future versions.
I got a package today. It was a laptop logic board. That I ordered. In June 2013. Where the fuck has this thing been for the last year and a half??? Did it leave Upstate NY and go on a world tour?
