What's a good sub-5" smartphone? I can afford a top-end phone, I just don't like the big-ass phones everyone makes nowadays. Preferably something with good software updates or well-supported by CM or whatever.

Nexus 5 is 4.95-inches and fits every criteria you listed. It's not that big imo. It's pretty much supported on many ROMs.
I want a newer sub 4" like they all used to be. I've got a stupid idea for making my own wearable that needs one.

Apple introduced the Typing suggestion feature as if they just made a revolutionary breakthrough.
I hope the Google Event soon has better quality and content. I want an android phone which doesen't starts to crawl upon scrolling or opening an app.

It's revolutionary for iPhone users that don't know/care/give a shit much about Android and other options.
It is also cool to see third-party support for keyboards a while back so seeing SwiftKey on iPhone would be pretty cool. Every other app I use can be replaceable on iOS if I was to ever really switch.

As many things as I find disagreeable with for iPhones, all I do is browse anymore, so they'd technically work great for me.

If I would go by the logic of images like this and would compare Linux to Windows, I would welcome Windows to the year 2000.
But I don't really want to come off as edgy as that.
