Just got a call for a printer repair job that pays $10 an hour. I might want a new job, but I don't want one that bad.
Printers sound boring as shit, but hey, it's money.
Damn that 4chan thread 404'd before I could see it.
That pred.me link just crashes firefox O_o

It's 151MB, probably runs out of memory. You can download it and open it in Notepad++ like I did.
I thought that site died ages ago.
for the disagrees, this is what i was referring to:

Yep. Exactly what I did after noticing it was that big :P
I should set up 2-step authendication
re wallpaper sites
a bunch of mods from wallbase started this one, still in alpha though

I just use NASA raws downscaled to 1440p for my wallpapers.

Evidentially it wasn't, as I got my current wallpaper on there a week ago.

For 50¢ more an hour I'd rather not sacrifice myself to printers

2560x1080 wallpapers are rare. I usually just grab 2560x1440 ones that don't have anything going on in the top or bottom
I had five hours to kill at school today, so I was killing time trying to get internet bandwidth evenly shared on a LAN. I wanted to use my VM server and my Mikrotik router at home, so I VPNed in.
When I was testing out settings for bandwidth sharing, I thought I limited the connection to my test subnet so download tests wouldn't murder my connection. I only discovered how wrong I was when I started downloading a 1GB file and RDP instantly dropped and wouldn't come back. Winbox also died before I could disable the port :v:
I felt pretty stupid while I waited for that download to finish...

I am glad that Microsoft has 2 step auth as well, Google had it before them I think.

Opera blocks it and gives me a warning about it being a malicious page. Is this site malicious or is it a false positive?

Well shit apparently I thought it was February 9th. :downs:
It's begun.
I went to the recycler today in search of old junk to fiddle with. Spotted what appeared to be a second gen G5 (those quad core machines are pretty nice, you know) in a pile of dead first gen G5's. It wasn't.

It's a first gen mac pro. Two dual 2.66 xeons, dual ethernet, bluetooth, two optical drives. Had no ram, video card or hard drives (but the sleds were there). Was untested for $40. Now that it's sitting in my shop I'm starting to look up the things I can do with it. 32gb of DDR2 and dual SLAED's (3.00ghz quad core xeons with 8mb cache) should speed it right up. Might add an SSD or two. Can't really test it though until I find a video card and at least a basic amount of ram but cool. This should multiboot windows 7 and OS X nicely.
As for if it works, well you plug it in and press the button and it turns on and gives a blink error I can only assume is it complaining about no ram so this is a good start. Google says that the first gen mac pros do not have any sort of failure rate either so it looks like this machine was stripped of any reusable parts and then decommissioned in perfect working order.
nice find

Nice - I'm still using one of those.
Pro-tip: a Radeon 6870 will work properly in OS X as well as Windows. OS X doesn't like most video cards for some reason, except stupidly overpriced Apple ones, but a stock 6870 works fine.

That will be a firmware thing. Apple has done that for years and you can usually get almost any PC video card to work in a mac if you flash it with the mac firmware.
In the OS 9 days people didn't like paying $300 for Radeon 7000 Mac so they took the $75 Radeon 7000 PC, flashed it and dropped it in a mac.
holy fuck pentium is getting a modern (2006 is 22nd century for pentium) computer

[editline]10th September 2014[/editline]
wait what its a 2nd gen g5
damn son
I was hoping nobody would get an aneurysm on the announcement. :v:
Also, it's positively a mac pro according to the spec badge on the back and the presence of two optical bays. Fuck the G5. We're going back to the future!
my current school still has these, these are nice
What can you use those old PowerPC Macs for? I imagine OSX PowerPC software is slim pickings nowadays. Or do you just make do on legacy software and/or Linux?
Grats on the Xeon one though.
i'd just like to thank the entire EU for disabling useradjustable preamp on my g930
Google Hangouts for Android had a facelift today with some new features such as the ability to call phone numbers just like how you can in Gmail. And now Google Voice has been merged.
Now only if Google Voice made it to Canada...
Oh my Windows Servers have 8 new updates.
.... oh I now have to restart the entire infrastructure.
Well brb...

(also checked my shit, my current email is clear but my old email that i deleted years ago is on there)
I hate that too. I use pinning and explorer pins so much as well as clover for managing my folders and work areas. And windows every 3 months or so will just wipe it for no fucking reason.
