Who in gods name does 190/45?
through various upgrades due to length of being a loyal customer, Cox communications. I get routed through rhode island, but I live in ct.
I'm going to assume that high number = good
very yes.
That cameraman is insane. He just watches the tower collapse and braves it out. Incredible stuff. I looked some of the names up, Benfante wrote a book.

So I have Ubuntu on my T420. It's cool and all, I just got it super themed out, and I'm just wondering... why? It's very pretty. But I just don't have a lot of software that runs on Linux.
I exclusively use Fedora on my desktop machine, its a wonderful dev environment in comparison to Windows where doing my work would be like having my balls in a bulldog clip.
yeah, I suppose it varies between everyone. I know I wouldn't be able to exclusively use linux
Comcast
I'm quite happy that cox has a monopoly on this area, I'd use LTE over comcast. internet is internet, but comcast takes it to a new level in this state. $55 a month for a 5/1 connection is fucking ridiculous.
I work entirely with Visual Studio and .NET stuff so Linux for development is out. Wish I could repartition my drive, though. Now it wraps around to the beginning, since I'm an idiot and stuck my Ubuntu partition up front.
Another case of "Your ISP ACTUALLY LOVES YOU?
rice it out and get a waifu wallpaper to post in /g/ dekstop threads
gfuck i found this example buried in my dropbox [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/12335423/kawaii.png[/t] i dont remember if it was satire but for the sake of my dignity i'm going to say it was
Fucking incredible
Perhaps some day the Microsoft Surface will have good Linux support ;_;
well I mean....If you want Linux on a tablet you can just get an android tablet :v:
Saving .psb's takes fucking forever. Sure it's a 20GB file but it writes at like 15megabytes per second.
Heh. So I get home, see that all my computers started up around 11AM, so I know when I got power back. However, Internet wasn't working. Traceroute shows it dying after my ISP-provided modem/router. It's crap, of course, so I restart it and my own router. Traceroute then shows no problem, but internet's still down. I get a hunch. ping 8.8.8.8 works ping google.com does not Once again, my ISP's DNS server is down. Can't even be from the power outage anymore. They just suck ass. I wonder how many other people have fixed their internet by using Google DNS? Probably not many, because my internet seems faster than normal right now. Still slow though.
Speaking of networks I'm studying which, to you fellas is considered just basic stuff. I don't know how to essay IP packet stuff, but it's something new.
Oh and * Bitching about having to use a Laptop with Windows 7 instead of a MacBook and OSX.
Get someone to fire him. Now.
Sort of off topic but I always making it a point to watch this every year It's always kind of difficult for me to watch since we actually went to NYC like 2 or 3 weeks after 9/11 (vacation planned a year in advance). I'm not entirely sure I understood the gravity of the situation at 6 years old, but what I remember most was the dust near ground zero.
The post-collapse of that 2nd tower looks like armageddon (and one of them said it too). Jesus Christ, sickening that someone (let alone a group of people) would do this.
I found a big problem in my document. I was holding onto these 8GB smart objects which I never had to move. I rasterized them and my project went from like 25gb to 3. Saving takes like 40 seconds instead of 10minutes. I only got like 15 minutes left to work on this project though. :\

I think it looks kinda cool. Started from some pen drawings. [t]http://puu.sh/bvb8d.jpg[/t]
* Bitching about choice of programming language (Java)
ehh sort of legitimate in some cases, but a jobs a job.
* Bitching about having to use a Revision control system (SVN)
Just kill him.
Every single ISP I've been with in New Zealand(even my own current ISP) have had the worst DNS servers that I practically just ended up just setting my modem's DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 respectively. Vodafone was actually the worse, constant DNS issues even after raising a ticket and creating a huge fuss on a NZ IT forum I post on too with actual sufficient evidence that it was the ISPs problem. Orcon who is my current ISP has had DNS issues maybe once in my 7 months of being with them.
I just wish my router had support for more than two DNS addresses. I'd put in my ISP's DNS, OpenDNS and Google DNS. Because the odds are astronomical against all three of them being down.
Aww yeah. 8 hours battery life on a Sandy Bridge Thinkpad.
OpenDNS has gone to shit. If it fails too find something, it doesn't let your browser redirect itself to a search page (usually google), it goes to their own shitty search. Or did they change that a while back?
I get 4 hours out of my Pentium 1
I get about that on my old Pentium 2 Toshiba, too. And I have 2 batteries for it. And a mechanical dock.
Anyone here know anything about business class networking equipment? In particular, wireless access points? A school on the island is not happy (to say the least) with their SonicPoint Ni's right now and needs my company to work on replacing them. They have piss poor range and seem to drop clients when they feel like it. Anyone have any recommendations for a Mac-based small business/private school network that'll have at least 80 iPads on the campus and a few dozen Macbooks?
I think my s4's battery meter is actually some weird countdown timer that subtracts 1 every 5 minutes. On idle...
