New router for our upgraded service came today (if anyone'c curious, here).
While I'm re-plugging my RJ45 from here to the next room where the router is, step dad says no and then claims he bought the package so I "wouldn't have to use the cable anymore".
I explained to him that I didn't have an adapter for wireless, was tempted to say that even if I did I'd still never use it, but I didn't wanna seem harsh. He got all pissy at me because what I told him was technobabble to him.
If he brings it up again, I'll just tell him to get those pin things so the cable will stay in each corner, which is more frugal than any wireless adapter. Would hate to go back to wireless now with a way better connection than I ever had.
Anyone here know anything about business class networking equipment?
In particular, wireless access points?
A school on the island is not happy (to say the least) with their SonicPoint Ni's right now and needs my company to work on replacing them.
They have piss poor range and seem to drop clients when they feel like it.
Anyone have any recommendations for a Mac-based small business/private school network that'll have at least 80 iPads on the campus and a few dozen Macbooks?
Ubiquity is great, I haven't personally dealt with them though I know a few people that use their equipment and love them. Their controller software could run on any linux box, if I recall. Other companies sometimes require a dedicated controller, I know for Aruba (Used at a previous job) it was something like 13 grand for the controller.
They have standard APs with high power versions, outdoor APs, long distance point to point APs and also some low-cost routers.
So I asked a few questions about the upgrade plans on a mac site.
Dude. Why do you want to spend so much money on an old mac?
.....:v:
I don't know. Why did you spend $250 on a CPU accelerator for an Apple IIgs?

I believe our University campus just switched to Ubiquity from Cisco AP's. They seem to work pretty well from an end-user standpoint. I get dropped from the network a whole lot less often anyway and I don't need to use a 3rd party program to log on to the network.

Except he didn't.
Your point is invalid :v:
This is the final image I turned in if anyone is curious. Full res: https://www.dropbox.com/s/oa2z4tt6hvdyqai/5.jpg?dl=1

Mac forums can be pretty bad. I once asked a long time ago about playing railroad tycoon 3 on my Mac Mini and overheating and they told me to get a PowerMac G5 if I wanted to play games and stop wasting their time. I was like twelve years old how was I supposed to get a PowerMac?
This post confuses me

MacRumors is a pretty "fun" place to browse.
But it kind of seems like they're getting sort of better?
Check google play services. Those sometimes dun goof and fuck battery
Yeah, I know that's part of the problem. Problem is the little freetime I get, I want nothing to do with tech outside of helping people out in PC Building.

I wonder how this would look as a skybox in audiosurf. Do you have a version that wraps left to right at all?

I won one of those Acer touchscreen ultrabooks from Neweggs college dorm contest last year, it was pretty nice. Sent it to one of my relatives though since their laptop was pretty much dead at the time.

Guess not :v:
if apple implemented spikes that protruded from the sides of the phone at all times the macrumours forum would say they're actually pretty good for maintaining grip if you shove them through your hands
ehh sort of legitimate in some cases, but a jobs a job.
Java was mentioned in the job title, and about 10 times in the description. He applied as a Java dev and now he says he doesen't like Java.I don't think thats a legitimate case.

Alright never mind then.
I still vote in favor of the death penalty for bitching about version control.
it would be more legitimate if he'd bitch about not using git, but bitching about having to use a Version control System is heretical.

People that use FTP for version control make me cry.

People that use zip and tar for version control make me cry.
Seriously, the previous place has like 200 Zips of changes for a program.
My version control system is "Save As"
