I'm in agreement with a couple of my friends on this one. The minecraft thing could be really good, or really, REALLY earth shatteringly bad. There might actually be some focus on development for once, and they might actually get some more real programers on the project. Or it could become a DLC ridden shitfest.
Guess this is the end of the linux client for minecraft =(
Guess this is the end of the linux client for minecraft =(
I honestly don't think Microsoft would have any intention whatsoever to touch different clients.
I honestly don't think Microsoft would have any intention whatsoever to touch different clients.
They said they would continue to support Minecraft on Android, iOS, Playstation, Xbox and PC. So I think its safe to assume that they consider OS X and Linux as part of PC considering their would be a shitstorm if they remove OS X support.
If they remove Linux support, I might file a claim with the consumer protection agency in Finland, but I'm not sure Linux support was ever publicly "advertised". Some guy got money back for his PS3 because they removed OtherOS, through that agency.
I'm officially pronouncing this cheapo SLR dead. While the caps I got sort of fit, fuck dealing with this mess of thread-thin wiring. Whoever put these together 30 years ago must've been a maniac. Neat lens though, and a nice decorative thing if I can't flip it as "for parts" or whatever.
Oh hey, new Canon 7D mark 2 was announced. Clean HDMI out, 1080p at 60fos (fucking finally) and 10fps burst. There was also some new Canon lenses launched today too.
Oh hey, new Canon 7D mark 2 was announced
I bet it still looks pretty soft in video mode though, like all other Canon DSLRs.
Well, going to order one of these in the next couple weeks. Should finally have the money. Unless you all have any better suggestions?
Gahhhh it keeps happeningggg :suicide: :suicide: :suicide: This is not okay lmao [t]http://i.imgur.com/0JWnQkR.jpg[/t] [editline]15th September 2014[/editline] nobody can read any of the text and shit that comes up on it
The keyboard that was on the workstation in class was being a piece of shit Dell. Some of the keys couldn't register unless you press really hard. I didn't feel like going to another computer since the room was somewhat packed so I decided to whip out my phone, connect my bluetooth keyboard to it, install chrome remote desktop on android and Chrome for Windows, connect it together and used my bluetooth keyboard as the keyboard for the computer. Yeah so that happened.

Don't just accept it.
If you guys haven't seen this, I suggest watching through it. Starts 22 minutes in. Julian Assange, Edward Snowden, leader of New Zealand's Internet Party, Laila Jane Harré, Glenn Greenwald, Kim Dotcom (contributing nothing of value, really, except annoying laughing, but it's easy enough to ignore), and Robert Amsterdam (part of Kim's legal team). Greenwald opens it, talks about how full of shit New Zealand's Prime Minister John Key is, then Snowden takes over, walks you through his experiences in working with the surveillance program that John Key says doesn't exist, talks about how full of shit he is, and then Julian Assange takes over.
So, on the exact same date I dropped my Nexus 4 last year (14/9) I dropped it again, and so I ordered a a replacement screen (£30 instead of £90 last time), and then bought a Moto G to tide me over, and to be honest, I think I prefer the Moto G, despite it having lesser specs. Feels a lot more robust, and the vibrate alert isn't pathetic.
I hope the Android One phones reach Finland at some point, I could totally go for one. Should be about 100-120€ after taxes etc., which is pretty brilliant. The MediaTek CPUs worry me, though.
I'm so confused This image is nowhere in the email, and I can confirm it's nowhere on my hard drives. So how did it appear in the notification?
How do you get notifications for emails? Oh wait, you're on linux? Anything for windows. years ago I used a gmail notifier, but they discontinued it.
How do you get notifications for emails? Oh wait, you're on linux?
I believe Chrome has the ability to push desktop notifications. would the gmail addon for Chrome work seeing as you're using Chrome?
From my experience it only does that if you have a tab with gmail open
How do you get notifications for emails? Oh wait, you're on linux? Anything for windows. years ago I used a gmail notifier, but they discontinued it.
Win 8 mail does that, but then you have to use win8 mail.
Thunderbird has notifications, but that's not a Thunderbird notification. Geary and Kmail come to mind, but I haven't used either of them. The bottom bar looks like themed KDE to me, but I don't use KDE either, so. Or maybe it's LXDE.
wtf mate why wouldnt you just tell him yall murricans be weird
we have...its a visiting female indian professor, she's had the campus IT people come to the class about 4 times in 2 weeks and still can't do it herself

Unfortunately, actually using KMail with Gmail is a pain in the ass so I still have to open a browser to manage my email. Thunderbird might have an identical effect though (and actually be usable), if I can get it to use libnotify instead of its own things.
Someone invent Twotube [editline]15th September 2014[/editline] Youtwo? [editline]15th September 2014[/editline] Wait that's a band
Someone invent Twotube [editline]15th September 2014[/editline] Youtwo? [editline]15th September 2014[/editline] Or partner with Nintendo for MiiTube (MeTube instead of YouTube, get it?)
Electricity is so cheap here that it's possible that we don't actually save money by paying more for fluorescent bulbs
Also I looked it up and 60% of the power in my state is provided by hydroelectric dams, and we have the 1st, 3rd, 5th, and 7th largest dams (as far as electricity generation is concerned) in the US and we're in the bottom 5 for price No wonder it's so cheap
Yes TF2, I love it when you switch me to the other team after kicking their ass for 3/4 of the round.
Can't wait to go from 150KB/s to 2MB/s when I move. I've been suffering for 3 years.
So for the people who yelled at me about Version control a while back, Thanks. Ended up getting Git up and running and it's been really useful so far Have a small thing i made for an indecisive friend
