makes me feel like I'm defusing a bomb.
Sounds like a perfect way to describe anything made with GTK+ Buggiest fucking thing I've ever used [editline]17th September 2014[/editline] Gimp itself is alright though, probably because I've been using it exclusively since like 2006 :v: I prefer it in a few ways to Photoshop, plus there's some handy ass features that PS doesn't support
Photoshop CS3 is still my favorite after all these years
I revived my first gen Nexus 7 with CM again. Android seems to have made some progress. It runs a bit smoother than what I'm used to before. Still gonna wait for Android ~L~ before I get a spare android phone.

It was good for the time but its horribly laggy compared to my M8 (which is really funny when you consider the fact the N7 has a slightly higher version of Android).
Photoshop CS3 is still my favorite after all these years
I still use CS3 even though half of my classes require CS5 or newer :v:
I just use CS6
I just use Picasa
ImageMagick master race reporting in. Who needs a GUI anyway? :v:
I fucking got spoiled with GIMP. I can't seem to get used to CS3 at all even though it apparently is far better.
5 mintues after installing VisualStudio 2013 and its already pissed me off.
5 mintues after installing VisualStudio 2013 and its already pissed me off.
I like it. Though its the first Visual Studio I've really had to actually use. I pretty much had to learn to use it on the fly the past two days because of an assignment I had to program in C.
12 was best tbh [editline]16th September 2014[/editline] 05 worst
24-105mm F/4L IS [t]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/7/76/Canon_EF_24-105mm_f4L_IS_USM.jpg/380px-Canon_EF_24-105mm_f4L_IS_USM.jpg[/t]
Should've gotten original the 24-70mm f2.8 instead
But muh image stabilization
But muh image stabilization
Large aperature + additional sharpness > IS
Should've gotten original the 24-70mm f2.8 instead
And they're considerably more expensive :v: I only paid $600 for the 24-105
My server started spamming my phone with SMS messages. Apparently after that whole malware thing my dad started scheduling antivirus checks but neglected to deselect the mapped network drive which was my server so all my Remote Storage logs are filled with recall runaway alerts.
So I finally managed to flash Android 4.4.4 installed on my S3, and I'm up for experimenting. What are some good Android themes (if any) you would recommend?
im gonna buy a bunch of high capacity reds when they have lower prices and lower failure rates might be waiting a while
Just get some ST4000VN000. 5 year warranty, and very good reviews. Performance wise they aren't WD-Blacks, but they aren't anywhere close to garbage either. The one I had fail was damaged in shipping. Zero problems with them so far other than that, and the reviews on newegg/amazon/elsewhere back that up.

Has there been documented performance with stuff over that number, would it be okay?
No idea if there are problems over that. I can't imagine why there would be, but I don't have extensive experience with setups that large.
Large aperature + additional sharpness > IS
not for video, shitty shaky ass video still looks like shit and post stabilization doesn't always fix things.
You could also stop filming while you're experiencing a seizure.
that depends what kind of video you're doing shoulder rigs look fine without IS
Why doesn't Revuva restore folder structures on default
Qualcomm just announced that they're implementing killswitches in their chips. Suddenly, I'm a lot less worried about MediaTek's expansion into more devices. I'll rather take unreliable kernel source publication over Five Eyes fuckers frying my phone because my Tor node is annoying them.

Actually, then locking your phone would be counter-intuitive to what they want really. :v:
I don't have anything wrong with a killswitch, that only the physical owner of the device can use. However, nowadays, you share ownership of the phone with at least a couple of different software companies, plus a couple of governments, so limiting the use of the killswitch to "owners of the phone" doesn't mean shit.
In the UK the entire telecommunications system, both that owned by BT and the towers owned by various phone networks are subject to a government 'Killswitch'. At any time BT can be ordered to shut down all exchange lines, except certain nodes for emergency use. It was partially used during the Aintree Grand National Bomb Scare.
I think GIMP isn't bad from a tech perspective, but as with most FLOSS Software, the UI is just goddamn terrible. Whenever I find myself in the terrible situation of having to use Gimp, because I have no Photoshop on the PC, I'd rather use Paint.net because on Gimp it takes me 10 times longer to get the same amount of work done because I have to search everything, and Deciphering the UI makes me feel like I'm defusing a bomb.
I got photoshop on my work computer, but I still use Gimp. It sort of grows on you, I suppose? It's definitely not the fastest, but the results are generally pretty good.
