Windows Server's IE defaults to maximum security mode, which is basically "Block fucking everything unless whitelisted"
you can remove the "Enhanced IE Security Configuration".
So, any bets on what game company ends up being the first one to release a game for Xbox One, PS4, and "SteamOS", but not Windows and OS X?
That'll be the day I laugh so hard I pass out.
It took me this long to realize there's a legitimate way that a game can end up being released for Linux, but not Windows.

Probably some indie dev doing retro-ish stuff, that works with gamepads but not mouse+keyboard. Probably someone with control issues, doesn't want a PC version because mods will ruin his game but still wants the pro-FREEDOM Linux version.
I'd say Phil Fish, but he only seems to know how to cancel games these days, not make them.
Aparently I get 1TB of storage on OneDrive through my uni email, cool.

Nah, it wont be Phil Fish. I think it's safe to say he's never making another game in his life. Plus he never really did show any care towards the whole FREEDOM debate

I only get 50GB :/
So today I've just gotten a job of sorts.
Basically a friend messaged me a screenshot of some guy advertising asking for techies on our local swaps+sales Facebook group. Decided to email. Got an informal interview. Went along, talked a bit. Got myself a part time job doing some basic web-dev and managing websites/servers.
Pretty decent for a 17yo with no qualifications other than GCSEs.
been configuring firewalls I know shit about, for 8 hours straight. I feel like I shat my brain out 5 hours ago.

That depends on what the firewall hardware is. Some are alright to configure. Some are COMPLETE FUCKING HELL.

Zyxel Zywalls.

Could be worse.
Could be worse.
Could be raw iptables.

Today I had babbys first virtual WAN interfaces and routing multiple public IP's
Ohgod felt like a dog trying to find a cure for cancer ;_;
I love having a dad who is a computer geek.
he just handed me another mechanical keyboard, a siig supertouch, and a stack of processors.
they looked huge, and its a stack of cyrix 6x86s.
and 2 pentium 133s
Could be raw iptables.
Nothing makes me madder than fucking IPTables. Not only is it fucking ridiculous and actually hell to work with, it occasionally likes to forget rules until you reload them.
Zyxel Zywalls.
oh hey we have one of those
they're breddy gud
Huh. My tape library apparently allows the media pool to be shared with the backup software. Goodbye DLT!
Just ordered an RPi Model B+
I might appreciate the thing this time around.
Going to make a Python3 project, that tracks Internet connectivity somehow, and run it on the Pi, since it's fairly low-power.
Use it to learn the language while I'm at it.
Edit:
I'm very carefully stepping around my personal problem of "I'll just learn the language as I work with it" not working.
The book I chose is damn good.

what book did you pick?
what book did you pick?
Learning Python, 5th edition, by Mark Lutz (O'Reilly).
It's an intimidating bible when you first get your hands on it, but it's a really good book for just reading a page or two, putting it down, and then picking it up again.
It's helped tons that I made a little bookmark thing out of a little piece of some sort of fabric, that I got from my mother. Not sure what it's normally used for, but the material doesn't matter, any good old string would probably work.
The thing with strings is that they're immutable, though.
OneDrive/Office 365 is being annoying as fuck, I can't find the storage usage anywhere.

I'm gonna assume my college account has unlimited storage

I was fiddling about with 365, and I have yet to find it on OneDrive.
I hate it.
Oh yay OneDrive file size limit is now 10GB instead of 2GB.

I'm gonna be needing a laptop next year for uni, can anyone tell me what brands are considered the best these days? Having it stay cool and quiet is a priority for me.
Also what sorta laptop would I need if I'd be just using Google Docs, along with browsing and light gaming (Binding of Isaac, Quake Live etc.)? I'm thinking of custom ordering one from Clevo but I hear they're not good on the quiet part I wanted.
