Ordered 4x Panasonic NCR18650B 3400mAh 3.7V batteries and a power bank case to hold them. I like this setup. If the case is shit, it's 5€ to replace it. If the batteries are fake or something (they should be legit Panasonic batteries, I didn't exactly sort by price), I can just replace them without throwing out the case if I like the case.
HOW? I never really manages to break the 8GB usage, unless I was doing one of the following: * Rendering hours of lossless 1080p videos * Compiling huge project * Being victim of nasty memory leak * Running an Atlassian product. * Minecraft
I am constantly running into the 32gb ceiling at work. It's not even rendering hours of lossless video, it's After Effects' RAM previews. Even at half res for a 30 second video with no effects, they're monstrously expensive. Maya is also running in the background but that only uses about 2 gigs so it doesn't make a real difference.

ohboyohboy new Nvidia Drivers
ohboyohboy new Nvidia Drivers
I didn't see much in the release notes. Seems like just mainly a 9xx update. Also I need to sell my GTX 580's. How much do you think a pair of MSI 3GB 580 lightning extremes with the boxes and packaging would go for?
Depends who you can sucker in to buying them. :v:
I'm so close to decimating my bank account and replacing my noisy as fuck 560 that can't run all three of my monitors (Third is on the iGPU). Though it's going to cost $422 after tax and shipping from newegg, still not too bad considering I don't think I'll need to upgrade my PC for the next four years.
Now you're making me feel bad for seriously considering replacing my 4gb 680 with a 980.
I looked at 970's on Newegg and all but one brand are OOS
I present to you... The Nvidia Geforce 210! You can see all of that dust build up blocking the fins of the heat sink. The blockage is real. Took the head sink/fan off and saw a collection of dust lines. Started to scrape off the dust from the heat sink/fan and hello there shit tons of dust At the end of all of that, lot's of dust removed, maybe the GPU will perform better. 200% needs thermal paste.
Just had a platter drive die on me. Any bets as to what manufacturer? (I've had this drive RMA'd before, for a cherry on top!) :suicide:

Should I get a WD Black or a Seagate SSHD? [editline]19th September 2014[/editline] The Seagate is cheaper.
I personally find those SSHD to be quite gimmicky. Either get an SSD if you need the speed, or a HDD if you need the capacity. If you need both, then get both seperately.
I'll probably go with the Black, the "SS" part of the SSHD is only 8GB of flash storage, and I've already got a SSD. [editline]19th September 2014[/editline] The only reason I'd consider the Seagate drive over the WD is because it's cheaper.
Seagate, everyone. 100% usage with absolutely no I/O activity.
I was actually going to guess Seagate :v:
I yanked the hard drive out and suddenly all of my queued downloads started, half of my startup programs launched, and system performance immediately improved overall. Never buying a Seagate again.

Ok Ok I'll get the WD Black. :v:

I have the best ThinkPad.
I should have that one soon.
2TB WD Black and some extra sata cables on the way.
I yanked the hard drive out and suddenly all of my queued downloads started, half of my startup programs launched, and system performance immediately improved overall. Never buying a Seagate again.
what. I guess you should yank your hard drive out more often to speed up your PC :v: On a side note, I still haven't plugged in the Seagate 2TB I got yesterday. It costed $2 less than the WD Green 2TB that was also on sale. I figured it probably has more reliable internals than the budget Green...
Far more reliable. The Barracudas fall in line with the Blues for expected and average lifespan. Although in personal experience I've seen more Blues failed than Barracudas.
I also get 1 more year of warranty (so 3 years) instead of the 2-year warranty with the WD Green.
