It's always interesting to see the new versions of non-reference coolers.
what will be the new free games when you buy a 970/980?
I present to you... The Nvidia Geforce 210! pls send help need new/better gpu
My brother gave me his old GTX 560 when he got a 760, can your PSU handle one? If so, I could probably send you it for shipping (We're both in ontario IIRC, should be cheap) + ~$50.
Far more reliable. The Barracudas fall in line with the Blues for expected and average lifespan. Although in personal experience I've seen more Blues failed than Barracudas.
I dunno, i've had more seagates go on me than WD blues. I've also had more WD blacks fail on me than blues.
HDD fail, shit happens. [editline]19th September 2014[/editline] Oh I just realized my 750gb drive is a Seagate. It's got an IBM label on it though. I got it out of an big ass server a couple years ago. It's power on time is almost 2,000 days. :v: [t]http://puu.sh/bG5Ji/e5eabe6666.png[/t]
Needs more 94.
I didn't even notice that!
Need more RAM :c
What are you running? Server or virtualization stuff? [editline]19th September 2014[/editline] Finally started on my first programming assignment of the year...and it's in C. Apparently 2560x1440 is not enough screenspace. Is there ever enough screenspace?
Need more RAM :c
Looks like overall you need some x99 action. [editline]19th September 2014[/editline] I will purchase you 1 x99 if you purchase me 2 980's+waterblocks
The PSU is 420W 420W 420 My PSU smokes weed evryday :v:
That might work as long as you have the necessary connections (Two six pin connectors) and isn't an IED.
That might work as long as you have the necessary connections (Two six pin connectors) and isn't an IED.
I actually have no idea.
I have the best ThinkPad.
Obligatory "hurr durr T61 or go home" [editline]19th September 2014[/editline] On a serious note, I like the T420s better
Is the x220 decent at all? Keep looking back to it while looking at T420's
What are you running? Server or virtualization stuff?
Maya and Mandelbulb3D are both rendering 4k stereo image sequences. Got 9 more PCs, 3 Maya, 6 MB3D. On the bright side, the MB3D outputs are stunningly pretty. Here's a quick low res rendering with no AA. [t]http://imgur.com/ZxiAqLw.jpg[/t] Our final outputs are going to be 2xSSAA scaled down to 1080p. I've got 4 different fractal scenes rendering at the moment, each one equally pretty.
I like how that agree turned to a disagree Trekintosh
200% needs thermal paste.
right so time to find some thermal paste. The ones used for CPUs should be find eh? also, should I scrape the old paste off, then reapply?
right so time to find some thermal paste. The ones used for CPUs should be find eh? also, should I scrape the old paste off, then reapply?
Yes.
I do too, but you can't beat $200 for a mint T420 with an i5 and 8GB of RAM.
I'd love to find a deal like that for my first laptop :v:
It looks like the 840 EVO issue may have some merit. Possibly related to TLC. The 840 PRO and normal 840 use MLC and have not been having this issue. Some research seems to point to power loss issues in how the drive handles it.
Rubbing alcohol should get rid of the thermal paste, but I used this stuff when I last cleaned my GPU. Took the whole thing apart and just hosed it down. [t]http://i.walmart.com/i/p/00/07/82/54/05/0007825405103_500X500.jpg[/t] [editline]19th September 2014[/editline] Bought it at an auto parts store, but I'm sure you could get it elsewhere.
There's all kinds of things to clean electronics. Once upon a time the neighboring restaurant had a fire and our client's systems got smoke and soot damage. Owner is friends with a local car wash and apparently we got some sort of solution that is safe on electronics and they ran it through their lines so we sent the system through on carts. Worked wonders.
I spent the last couple days fixing up an old espresso machine, and I'm pretty close to finished. I did at least 30 km on bike/foot to get the parts (being terribly out of shape) and probably almost killed myself with the muriatic acid decalcifier. And I don't even have some espresso-ground coffee to test it properly. Gave it a test with coarse grind and damn it's a step up from the hunk of plastic I'd been using before.

Can barely hear the guy on the shit iphone mic and then it jumpcuts to a travel scene with loud music. I'm on speakers so it's noticable.
I thought my Logitech c920 webcam was better than phone cameras. Not sure what I was thinking, but shows how much I knew of course. Maybe it's a little too different of a comparison.
We still had 210's in production use until this year.
