Updated AMD drivers Both displayport outputs stop outputting anything other than a black screen Business as usual
Updated to what? The current stable, or the new beta? If you updated to beta, guess what, it's beta. Submit a bug report. [editline]21st September 2014[/editline] More Carmack on the stream right now, by the way. [editline]21st September 2014[/editline] Somebody stop me. At least I'll have some basic supplies next month for playing with my Pi, but I haven't ordered anything really useful, I grabbed some breadboards and wires, various resistors and some RGB LEDs (I want a proper software-driven status LED on the Pi, so), but nothing major, not even basic buttons etc., since I'm not yet really in the mindset of "I should totally build x".

Might be late because I saw this a couple months ago, but it fits in with the keynote. They started the demo 7 days prior to the video. It's janky, but the results are pretty good.

Grooveshark is my main music source and I only use WMP when I need to quickly play a sound file or listen to offline music of any kind.
Its not like they've ever been any different.
Nah, this is a whole other level. Like, the pictures are good, but not great? Sure, the landscape is beautiful and the photographer is great, but they're just pretty soft (especially in low light): There isn't even any real comparison pics (I mean, larger than 200x300px) between the 5S and the 6+, not to mention comparisons to phones not made by Apple. Meanwhile The Verge is hyping the 6+ up to be a DSLR-killer:
They're meant to destroy your point-and-shoot, your camcorder, and maybe even your DSLR.
Also, unless Apple made some incredible advancements in video stabilization (haven't seen that smooth video in any review), that video was definitely stabilized after the fact.
They're meant to destroy your point-and-shoot, your camcorder, and maybe even your DSLR.
That entire article tries to make the Iphone 6's camera look really good, but IMO all it has is noisy, distorted panoramas of really good looking locations. I mean I could go to nowhere, Iceland with my DSLR in baby mode and take some photos with my kit lens that would rival that. They should be talking about how easy it is to take the photos users are most likely to take, like all your friends in a barely lit club, a moment you'd miss if you had to take out your proper camera out of your backpack, etc. And how easy it is to edit and upload those photos right from the device, something I can only wish my D3100 did.
the verge is awful. especially awful since topolsky left
So The Verge has actually devolved into Apple PR by now?
There is actually a long war at the top of the comment section of The Verge article where people were accusing The Verge of directly advertising the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.
Hey The Verge, Don’t you think you should mention that this is native advertising and that Austin Mann is working for Apple (more specifically Teresa Brewer, iPhone Senior PR Manager)? Since you (presumably) hired Mann for the same project Apple did, doesn’t that mean that this is just advertising? Also, Mann doesn’t mention he is working for Apple in his reviews. Prolly should do that, Mr. Mann. Just wondering, you know… Great photos though.
http://www.theverge.com/2014/9/18/6339583/iphone-6-and-6-plus-camera-test-iceland Everyone knows The Verge are Apple fanboys.
the only phone that i've ever used that had a great camera (imo, of course) was the S5. but it didn't make up for the other problems that i had with it. if it had the laser focusing feature of the G3 it would be even better.

Sony often has too much image noise HTC, Samsung, LG I haven't tried out enough
I'm just glad that my phone can capture light and arrange it into an array of color that approximates the scene when the picture was taken
Things a server operator should not do: There's a guy on one of the mac forums who ran a Proliant 1500 server. Now this thing is ancient. Pentium 166. Even I am not dumb enough to hold all my eggs in a basket that old. Anyways the CMOS battery tanked and this was the era when flash memory was still expensive so a lot of the BIOS is stored on floppies or a partition on the hard drive (optionally). With no battery he lost his BIOS and RAID config settings. The genius he was never bothered to keep a local copy of HP's downloads page which up until February had full system support. Now he's discovering that the ROMpaq images he needs are now only available through a service contract only and his entire server is now an unbootable 50 pound steel brick.
I was thinking pentium that you probably have more than enough inventory to make a youtube series like LGR's Oddware
Anyone ever buy a "Refurbished" drive from Micro Center? They have 2TB Hitachi's for $65. Wondering if it's worth it.
why would you even actually run a server you use for real on hardware that old? i understand repairing / fucking around with old stuff, but using it for shit you care about? why modern hardware is literally better in every possible way [editline]21st September 2014[/editline] unless he just used it for fucking around and lost nothing of value
We're dealing with mac users. We've already determined that they'll try and install the latest OS on a macintosh SE/30, tell you to get a batter machine if you own a first gen mac pro and because HP doesn't list the contints of their FTP server like Apple does with a simple HTML page and a pile of links the disk images he needs are obviously impossible to find. [editline]20th September 2014[/editline]
unless he just used it for fucking around and lost nothing of value
Windows NT Server includes support for Appletalk as well as regular Windows shares. Take a wild guess which machine was storing all his stuff and hope he had some sort of tape backup. Yes it's entierly possible to compare a PC to an apple here without bias.
God damn MGSV looks awesome. Why did I never play this series?
Why did Sega even do this? :v:
Why did sega make the saturn.
Just played some cs:go at friends on native resolution and a bunch of fancy settings on 60-100fps. So this is what smooth gameplay is like..
it's hard to believe I survived off of 2GB of memory at one point definitely going to upgrade to 16GB in not too long
At a Canadian department store named Sears, this is their electronics department now. I used to go to it a lot with my family whenever we went to this mall which was very often throughout the years. This was the only section I bothered looking at because what else would a kid do at such a large department store? Look at bed sheets? Towels? It was the only place that kept me sane until we eventually got ourselves to Best Buy in the same mall. :v: There are no more models for actual display, they are all on it's boxes. There is no longer any associates/salesperson there anymore. All there is are a few dusty shelves filled with stuff that never sells, a glass display case with some cameras that you can get for less at the Best Buy a short walk away and some older digital cameras. There isn't even any more display cameras that you can actually play around with anymore. Then there is this table of marked down stuff that probably will never be bought. I remember using one of their computers where you can price match other companies and it had a special version of IE that didn't show the address bar so I couldn't just go on whatever website I wanted to. I eventually figured out a way to get myself to the Google Homepage and started using that as my address bar. The Internet was slow, I remember it being somewhere around 1.5Mbps down. That's like T1 speeds, geez. It was pretty slow for YouTube videos and all that but I was standing there browsing away for like an hour. Probably used a bunch of bandwidth after it. The next time I went there I tried the same loophole and I guess they looked at the history and found out how I did it. They full on did URL restrictions so even Yahoo and whatever other search engine I can think of didn't work. Welp, it was fun when it lasted. Essentially I went onto their social media website links on their company website, went searched for Google, clicked on a direct Google homepage link and got to it.
:words:
Really? Ouch. I'll have to examine the Polo Park Sears sometime to see if it's that bad too (unless somehow we're talking some other obscure Sears of the same name, but I doubt it). I'm assuming you couldn't find a way to clear history or use private browsing mode either?
I'm pretty sure Sears is based in America. It's where I bought my Craftsmen tools. My dad bought a lawnmower there too. I usually walk through it when I go to the mall, but everything is way expensive.

Literally no one goes there anymore.
