Looks like circuit city before they closed
rip circuit city
I get the feeling Electronics/Appliance shops won't be around much longer, in the UK the only main retailer left standing is Curry's and that probably would of bit the dust long ago had it not gone through a few mergers with other companies. The only other major retailer, Comet went up shit creek a few years ago.
Its a shame, because I like browsing that kind of stuff, playing with the display models and all that. Not a whole lot of places left that let you do that around here. :\
God damn MGSV looks awesome. Why did I never play this series?
Metal Gear Solid is a series in which you spend countless hours staring at a man's firm buttocks.

I'm sad that electronic stores are going down because Radio Shack is a god-tier store. I got an amazing pair of JBL ear buds for 40 dollars and they're the best pair I've ever owned.
well since hardware stores here have usually almost 50-100% doubled price than online stores, it's no wonder they're disappearing i can get 5m of hdmi cable online for like $7, at media markt they're like $40
Really? Ouch. I'll have to examine the Polo Park Sears sometime to see if it's that bad too (unless somehow we're talking some other obscure Sears of the same name, but I doubt it). I'm assuming you couldn't find a way to clear history or use private browsing mode either?
It's probably the same one, Sears in blue lettering. [t]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/1/12/Chinook_Centre_12.jpg[/t] And this modified version of IE or whatever it was didn't even have any of the File, Edit, View, etc. bar. All it had was this custom bar that had big square buttons to go back, forward, stop, home and probably some other stuff. That and it's not hard for them to look and browser history on the server or router. They probably logged all of it like a responsible company :v:
If some sort of device ends up being invented, that can teleport a person to anywhere else on the planet, quickly, I'm just running between Guangzhou and my home constantly for the first month or so. Ooh, and Hong Kong, and Tokyo. You know, I just realized, there's nowhere in North or South America I'd really like to visit. Going to DEFCON etc. would be cool, but other than that, meh.
I'm pretty sure Sears is based in America. It's where I bought my Craftsmen tools. My dad bought a lawnmower there too. I usually walk through it when I go to the mall, but everything is way expensive.
There is Sears USA and Sears Canada, both are pretty much the same concept of department stores. Sears did start in USA. Before Sears Canada existed, The Hudson's Bay existed and pretty much dominated what Sears would be in Canada. When Sears Canada did happen, it was two companies doing a joint venture with Simpson's and Sears USA into Canada. The Hudson's Bay acquired Simpsons which allowed them to own a portion of Sears Canada. Former Simpson's store locations were split up between Sears and The Hudson's Bay and Simpson's in Canada no longer existed. Sears Canada is based in Toronto, Canada but Sears USA and the original Sears is from USA.
Your clones will have so much fun while the original you is dead.
The original me died a Planck ago. I don't mourn him.
Your clones will have so much fun while the original you is dead.
Holy shit somebody else who gets it :v: Teleporters would just be combination suicide booth/cloning machines, and nobody would find out because the real you is dead and the teleclone would think it worked fine
That's a really crude way of thinking about it, though. If the clone is 100% identical, in every observable, and unobservable way, and the original no longer exists, what makes the clone a clone? To me, that's the original.

The Best Buy nearby used to power on all of the cameras and camcorders, now they don't or not as much as they used to. I don't think there are any demos for keyboard and mice anymore. They still do live demos for consoles, laptops, desktops, TVs and tablets.
Just had a power supply blow on me. If you shake it around you can hear/see the empty cap shell
Hooray for my DVD player breaking in the middle of watching a load of new DVDs I bought and the thought of watching them in horrible upscale o'vision on my LCD is making me feel ill.

One of the few shows I can think of that pulled this sort of thing off with any degree of consistency and reason.
you consider a clone to be the original when the original is dead?
After you clone and kill as much people as I have, you have to.
You're not making a VM of the computer, you're grabbing a bunch of electrons, protons and neutrons, and arranging them in the same arrangement as the source copy, and then you're destabilizing the pattern of the source copy. You'd be right if it was an imperfect copy, but I'm talking about a perfect clone, where every environment variable is taken into account. It's not even like dd'ing a disk to another disk, it'd be like physically modifying the destination drive into the source drive.
you guys know that other methods of transportation don't need philosophical debate right
I recently bought an Elitebook 2540p off eBay however I've only been using it on AC power until today and I've noticed something a bit funny - the CPU fan just doesn't come on at all on battery whether the cooling policy in for the active power profile in windows is set to Active or Passive. As soon as I plug AC power back in again the fan comes on - this seems to be because of the option enabled in the bios "Fan always on if on AC power" as if I disable that then the fan just never comes on with AC either. The temperatures just climb and climb up to 90-105c and it seems retarded. I found this thread http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware/cpu-fan-not-working-on-battery/td-p/3002595 and I tried updating my BIOS to the latest version F50 but it made no difference whatsoever. I tried the AMT stuff also mentioned in that thread but AMT Settings in the BIOS is just greyed out and there is nowhere to enable it. Any ideas? This is driving me batshit insane.
you guys know that other methods of transportation don't need philosophical debate right
Why the hell would I not want to have a philosophical debate regarding a method of transportation?

I'm thinking about picking up a refurb Nikon D3300. It's $400. Good Price? Is this a good starting point? Any different suggestions?
