Fuck Man that's the worst. One time I was working on an essay and the power went out. 2500 words. Fucking gone. File? Corrupt. I now use google docs, so pretty much anything except thermonuclear war can't make me do that shit.
I use Office 2013 with Outlook.com, if I lost an end bit to my assignment or something then it'll be on Skydrive too. Same principle I guess.
I use dropbox for my essay, and save after each sentence.
A few weeks ago at school we had to use Google Docs for the same thing we had used MS Word for, and while it was somewhat possible, I learnt how useless Docs is for anything but basic text editing. Also it was quite buggy that time, like clicking on text would place the marker at a random position, not where I clicked. [editline]18th November 2013[/editline] After using Office 2013 trial for about a month, I couldn't imagine going back to OpenOffice (or LibreOffice), it is and looks too clunky, while Office 2013 has all these neat features and is much easier to use.
Fuck Man that's the worst. One time I was working on an essay and the power went out. 2500 words. Fucking gone. File? Corrupt. Had to do it allll again. I now use google docs, so pretty much anything except thermonuclear war can't make me do that shit again. Can you recover anything?
No, it said "Do you want to format?" and perhaps it could have been recovered, but in my panicky stressed state I very fucking stupidly tapped it against a while and it won't spin up at all. I think it needs like $2000 recovery or something. It's due Friday so yeah I'm totally screwed. Sound like it's jammed, I probably damaged the platters. Now I want to kill my self, oh god I'm stressed, how could I be so stupid.
Well so much for attempting to at least try and get more than a fucking half an hour of battery life in my tablet. It's something I'd never ever EVER recommend, it's a nightmare to even get the battery runtime right. It's not even close to 4hrs.
god damn my computer started locking up and being randomly slow again, I've never had that happen ever since I changed my hard drive holy shit, could it be other components of my computer being the issue? [editline]18th November 2013[/editline] task manager shows that all is well [editline]18th November 2013[/editline] I restarted and everything is fine now, except that this is the second time this has happened and it's showing the same symptoms it used to show back then. And I'm running Windows from an SSD what the fuck [editline]18th November 2013[/editline] The entire computer starts being sluggish and there's a noticable mouse input on the screen, what could it be?
Check Resource Monitor to find out how hard your solid state drive is being hammered, however, I don't think a busy drive would cause mouse delays.
Check SMART status on the SSD, also HWMonitor and check temps?
SMART says all my hard drives are good, I wouldn't trust it though considering it says my dying hard drive is "good" so. Temps are normal for now, I'll check when it starts being sluggish again. [editline]18th November 2013[/editline] oops, I forgot to unplug the dying hard drive, I don't think it's the one causing the entire system to go slow beacuse literally nothing is installed on it but either way I'll unplug it to be safe.

Damnit, my brain frequently marvels at how good real lifes anti-aliasing is. Perhaps I spend too much time on computers.

Think I've had it with my computer case (HAF 912 Plus). It's heavy as shit, quite bulky (I have to move my audio cable round to my TV(s) and I have to move it to access it) Front Panel USB and audio connectors have gone and front fan dust fan is quite unforgiving if you put it back on wrong because it makes contact with the fan making an annoying noise.

Those handles have been more useful than I could have ever thought.

Wait what? Did you just hack the matrix?
I've always thought my GPU's box looked snazzy. Nevermind I checked the website, I'm getting 100Mb/s too :D
wow wow wow, I know I'm 6 days late but I was on 30Mb/s and got doubled to 60Mb/s for free. How is it you're getting upgraded again for free? Is everyone getting it?
Check your Virgin Media account online, there should be a notice at the top of the page when you log in saying it will be upgraded to 100mb between July and December 2014.
Check your Virgin Media account online, there should be a notice at the top of the page when you log in saying it will be upgraded to 100mb between July and December 2014.
Yeah I'm getting it :D Thanks.
100mb/s, and I'm still dreaming of 76mb/s down.
Only niggle I have is they said they would eventually boost upload speeds when I got the 60Mb/s boost, but I'm still on 3Mb/s upload. They've said for next years boost that they aren't upgrading the upload speeds. So I'm going to be on 100Mb/s down and 3Mb/s up? :S
Well speak of the devil, just rechecked to see if I could fibre in my area and well.. you can. Now to convince Dad to save me from this slow speed.
Just a heads up to all the folk in here who use Firefox Nightly, today's build adds the new UI.
I might be going from my GTX460 to a GTX660 Ti. How big will the jump be?

So, a pretty big jump. Nizzle. Getting it for free from a friend when his 780 Ti arrives. [editline]18th November 2013[/editline] Who wants my old GTX460? :v:
This is a better comparison: http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/542?vs=647
