Is it much faster than an ssd/hhd?
Is it much faster than an ssd/hhd?
in terms of the ramdisks read/write speeds it would be ~22x faster than a good SSD (one with around 500MB/s R/W) the access times would be much smaller aswell.

does anyone want to see my below-average and horribly acted recreation of a scene from pulp fiction?
So there's a proxy being passed around my school at the moment, it's an executable which when run opens a SSH tunnel to some server in California and all traffic is routed through.
It's all fun and games until somebody gets their Facebook account hijacked.
Is facepunch being slow as fuck for anyone else right now?

Looks like AMD isn't going to release the Steamroller FX so instead they're just going to continue Piledriver well into 2014. Intel is so far at 22nm with Haswell and already heading towards 14nm with Broadwell in 2014 yet AMD will still be stuck at 28nm by that time. It's unbelievable how fast AMD has gone downhill with this.

It still doesn't bode well for Intels pricing (at least from out perspective).

If you can shop MicroCenter for Intel CPU's, they always have really good deals on them

For example
Newegg: $319.99
MicroCenter: $199.99
Little late to the Hydro Thunder nostalgia but I remember as a child whenever I found a HydroThunder machine at a restaurant, I would eat my meal as fast as humanly possible beg for like 5 dollars worth of quarters sit in that seat and just scream HYDRO THUNDER! later on I got it for the Nintendo 64 but it wasn't as the same as sitting in that seat and feeling the steering wheel rumble everytime I hit that speed boost button. Also that red boat for life every time I played.
Woo. Just got my internet setup in my new apartment. Took me forever to get the fucking router to work though. I got Comcast, but the router was supposed to send me to some setup page when I plugged my router in, but for some reason I was able to connect to the internet on my laptop, originally through Ethernet, and then through WIFI. Nothing else could connect to the internet, but WiFi worked fine. After resetting the router 4-5 times, 2~ hours, and the support guy hanging up on me, the setup page finally popped up.
It's pretty quick though. Facepunch is just as slow as I remember though.

I loved this game, and still try and play it when I see it in arcades. Personally I like the nuke boat.
I managed to corrupt my win7 partition, so I figure this is a good time to try out win8.
