So, somewhat offtopic but totally about tech albeit medical tech; I had my first ever MRI scan today, and fuck me it's one of the oddest experiences I've ever had.
Having a massive magnet rapped around you making odd noises is crazy.
Any alien implant come flying out ?

Nope, but I think I might be magnetically charged now as I can't stop spoons from sticking to me.
I just wanted a keyboard without anything printed on the keycaps and with mechanical switches for cheap.
I found this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CKJ2EZI/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3RTEBWOSE7AXE which is the closest
I'm a day and 300 posts late, but I have this keyboard in brown and can confirm that it's very nice.
Over the last few years I've been fine living at home, I don't mind it. I hate my sisters but I can deal with it. It's free housing, internet, power, water, etc. My only responsibility was going through school. But recently some of my push to work on stuff and find a job is to finally leave. Atleast twice a day I feel like throwing my sisters off a cliff. There is just no more peace in the house anymore. No one knows how to not scream.
That and everything is gluten free in the house. That's the worst part.
gluten free
How have you survived?
Oh god I just looked it up and the Orange County microcenter is just under an hour from me. I'm so going there this weekend.
Make sure they have what you're looking for in stock before you go. As cubeman said things tend to go off the shelves pretty quickly. Like before I posted that earlier when I checked that i7 was out of stock in the Orange County store.
How have you survived?
I don't. Gluten Free is fucking disgusting.
And no one in my family has a gluten intolerance, my mom is just oneof those people who thinks "X Free" is best.

Gluten free is the worst thing fucking ever. Everything either has zero flavour or tastes like literal vomit. Being a coeliac is one of the worst thing that's ever happened to me, destroyed food for me entirely since I cant have anything good except for the rare few things. I haven't had real bread in about a year and a half.
I also hate people that do it because it's ~trendy~. Because those people actually have a detrimental effect on those that haave to live on this shit. A lot of restaurants don't understand that's it's more than a shitty trend diet and actually a thing people have to live with, so you ask if they have gluten free X, they say yes because "Just another stupid dieter...", they give you real bread, you then spend the next week on the toiler. Fuck those people. I'm glad I'm not as bad as others though, I have a friend who if you even use the same knife to butter bread with as he uses for something else, he'll be on the toilet in under a minute. Just from sharing a knife. Insanely unlucky guy.
I really love those gluten free rice paddie/waffle thingies, if they are salty. really tasty, better than chips.

Probably to cover his ass if people try installing them on weird obscure chipsets to find they don't work.
They work fine on my core 2 duo acer's G31 chipset.
Well that was strange
Just heard some health insurance ad on the radio between songs and there was an instrumental version of The Bad Touch in the background (absolutely positive it was that)
For the uneducated:

Give it a shot.
Aaaaand Carmack's finally left id. Honestly surprised it took this long.

He's the programmer, not the game designer. You can't deny that id games have some of the best engines around - remember curved surfaces in Q3, dynamic shadows in D3, or megatextures in Rage?

Megatextures seem neat for the backend but simply didn't function like they should and left sour taste in peoples mouths.
What I enjoyed more was the performance scaling he developed so that consoles could do 60fps no matter what. It makes RAGE an incredibly relaxing game to play at times.
Okay, digitalocean just got a lot niftier. My brother streams some stuff on Twitch (Mostly Minecraft, I think) and is slowly getting some followers. Apparently he's doing some 8 person hardcore stream in a couple weeks that "may or may not be like 5 thousand people watching" (No idea if it's true). And he wanted to host the server on his connection, which is 1 megabit. I had trouble doing four or five on the same connection, and that wasn't while streaming video.
Though digitalocean makes it really quick to spin up servers and they bill by the time that you have the "droplet" on your account. Destroy it, and they stop billing you. So I made a new droplet with 2 cores and 2 GB of RAM (Overkill, but whatever), threw on Minecraft, had my brother try it out and made sure he understood McMyAdmin, then took a snapshot and destroyed the droplet. Total billing for that was nine cents for 3 hours. When he needs that server for his thing, all I have to do is create a new droplet and point it to the image. Since they use all SSDs, I can have the image running on a new droplet in a couple minutes.
The open sourcing of their engines was awesome as well, allowing their games to be played on modern systems. I wish more people would do the same with theirs (I would kill for a Tomb Raider 1 Source Port).
Would anyone mind explaining to me why projectors are always so stupidly expensive?
Like, what part exactly makes them so expensive?
Rage was bad lmao
And D3 was 2004 lmao
Literally exactly what I'm talking about.

Had an MR just over a year ago, hospital had a list of music you could have while you laid in the bore being bored and I made the terrible mistake of asking for Dark Side of the Moon
Jesus fuck let me tell you having the start of "Time" blast through while you're in a darkened room with cold feet and your head half way inside the bore is not advisable
