I took my desktop apart to clean it one time and on the plate the stand offs are bolted to had a bit of condensation on it. I had been using rubbing alcohol at the time, but I don't know where it came from. Scared the crap out of me though.
Can you say, "target audience" :v:

I just wiped it off and put it back together. :v:
How was it busted and why was it returned to you?
I sent it to him before everything imploded, it has the sudden death syndrome bug and Samsung said it wouldn't be covered by warranty. So I sent to him, though the post office wanted him to pay the equivalent of $93, he needed a train ticket since it ended up in another city, and on top of that I would have needed to pay shipping back. So it made more sense at the point to buy a new phone from Rogers.
He didn't pick it up, so it was eventually returned to me.
So, I'm a Verizon agent. This lady came in today, needing to make an insurance claim on her phone. She said she dropped in in the snow, and that it wasn't turning on after that. Which I assume she was lying to me and dropped it in a toilet or something, as frozen snow isn't going to instantly fuck your device. I told her if she wanted to try to save the device try sticking it in a bag of rice overnight to try to absorb the moisture, sometimes it saves them. But she said she already did that, and then stuck the bag of rice with the phone into the microwave for 30 minutes.
Then she showed me this.

please tell me you denied her warranty with extreme prejudice
I first started to file the claim as dropped in liquid, and when she came out and told me it was microwaved, it was too late to change the reason. So I called up the hotline and said that it was stolen, gave them a story. The guy on the phone asked to speak with her, I told her to say everything I said so we had matching stories. She changed every fucking detail.
I find it so stupid that there are so many Americans still think Microwave works the same way as a toaster oven except it heats up faster.

yeah i kno u'd think it'd be common knowlege that microwave cookers use uranium and nuclear waves
I bet that phone was just dropped in snow, and she over reacted and put it in the microwave.
yeah i kno u'd think it'd be common knowlege that microwave cookers use uranium and nuclear waves
Nope, microwave ovens use plutonium-238 to generate its waves of alpha particles to heat up the food actually.
You're close though.
I've watched videos OF THAT phone being dunked in a bathtub full of water, having headphones plugged in and unplugged while its still under water and continuing to work.
you're all wrong, microwaves are fucking magic and shit
Microwave technology came from the Roswell crash guys, this is common knowledge.
So uh is my SD card dead??

I should mention it goes in my phone hence the Android ROMs and my phone can't write to it. It just gets dumped in Windows when I try to delete this stuff.
Thought I fried my on-board sound a minute ago; I gave my headphones a nasty static shock taking them off and my sound card just started playing static. Thankfully a full power cycle fixed it.
This motherboard seriously won't die. I've spilled tea directly on it, given it multiple static shocks, it's survived power surges and brownouts, and it has been knocked around in my trunk with a heavy heatsink and gpu.
It only threatened to die once with cpu/memory courruption, but just powered through and kept working.
Sir ASUS P5N-D, keep up the good work.
my microwave has a grill mode, it's pretty cool
except that i can't see through the front
My buddy's got a microwave that has a top-loading pizza grill. Has a cute little circular dish and spatula to go with it.
my microwave has a first name
it's o s c a r
so i got told i should do unboxing and reviews today of electronics cause of my nature of unboxing items. Aka 600$ video card? Tear open box paper shreads everywhere throw everything everywhere and slam the card into the computer.
Bought portable battery charger at work today, shreaded the entire box threw the manual across the back room in the store plugged in my phone.
Your microwave's name is a series of letters that represent the name Oscar? Interesting.

I'm going to probably pick up another 290x, I was thinking like have a HowToBasic style unboxing then literally after it's out of the box have a dead serious review of the card.
Get me a 290x :3
I have decided that all Macs running Windows will kill any SD card you put in the built-in readers. Seriously, I've had to try to read cards on 4 different Macs running Windows (2 MacBook Pro 15's, a Pro 13, and an iMac), and each and every time the card has been corrupted and the system froze.
Somehow my phone fucked up my SD card. It was Fat32 formatted, and my phone fucked something around so it recognized it as RAW and it got write protected.
How do you make a Micro SD card write protected accidentally!?

My microwave has more chrome than a 50's car.

Remind me to never accept a meal at pentium's house so I don't get cancer from a cup of instant ramen
I got a geiger counter. The cooked food is usually safe.
Man that moment when you finally get paid and want to buy games but then oh yeah you have to pay off your Bill Me Later

Isn't that basically credit cards? get out while you can
Never spend more money than you actually have. It's just not worth it in the long run.
