DirectX installer has had that for ages. At least it's a simple checkbox to not install.

Shit on a fucking STICK
So you know that idiot developer I've been bitching about for months?
Yeah, we're finally about to kick him out. I've been given a few days to familiarize myself with the section that he's owned for a while now.
I had thought that I knew what to expect - he's been "adding" to other things for a while now, since he's an asshole, and so I thought I knew the caliber of code he writes.
Apparently I overestimated him. I'm looking at this shit and it is HORRIBLE. I found a bug in the second line of code, and only because the first line of code was copy-pasted from CodeIgniter examples. His library constructor causes a database delete query. He has a config file nearly two thousand lines long. He has unused variables everywhere, and crams dozens of marginally-related variables into a massive array he passes around because he doesn't quite understand global variables.
The worst part is the constant use of magic numbers. This is in PHP, BTW, not a language prone to magic number use like C is. The most egregious case is this: users can configure certain actions to be performed. Those actions are specified and saved in the DB as a string, eg. "import_customer". He then has a thousand-line-long array of these strings, mapped to certain numbers, eg. "array( '1' => 'import_customer');".
During execution, he takes those strings, converts them into numbers, and then uses the number to do logic on, sometimes tacking on which thing he thinks it is as a comment (I guarantee he gets it wrong at least once in the 10,000 lines it took for him to do this).
He also spent weeks trying to convert some of my old one-off scripts to run through his big generic system. I just discovered that that consisted of copying the old scripts, marking them as new action types, and changing the names of the DB handles and such to match the ones in his system. This not only took him weeks, but he was bragging about it up until the point where it didn't actually work in production.
I literally had to sit down with my manager and CEO and explain to them that this feature is so badly broken and unmaintainable that it could sink the entire project. And now I'm making a plan for if that *does* happen, because even with everyone we've got, we cannot rewrite this whole thing fast enough to meet customer deadlines. We were probably only a week or two away from this feature exploding and taking down some of our customers, anyways.
Meanwhile my sister bought the Sims 3 again because she couldn't find the disk
I GAVE her the sims 3 that came with the origin humble bundle, she just wanted all 5000 expansions too
So I've finally come down to a dark decision. I'm selling my 15" new Sager laptop and getting a 13" Macbook Pro.
How much do you think I can get for a very lightly used Sager (3-4 months) with these specs?
8GB RAM
Windows 8
i7-4700MQ (2.4GHz)
Nvidia 770M 3GB
120GB mSata Crucial M5 SSD
750GB Hard disk
Fingerprint reader
1080p screen
Specs are here, but just remember to add the SSD.
EDIT: Oddly enough, this new purchasable one looks exactly the same as mine, except it doesn't have that angel logo thing on the numpad. Mine has it. It goes in like 8 colors

Kick him in the balls
Kick him in the balls
I've informed by superiors that, if they need him to be eliminated, I need $400 in unmarked, non-sequential bills, two day's vacation for myself and an accomplice, a waterproof alibi and no questions asked.
They're considering it.
[sp]And I was mad enough to devise this plan *before* I saw how bad his code was when he didn't have someone else's to crib off of[/sp]
So I guess you can say I'm starting my career tomorrow. I'm going for an interview for a job that I've been told I will already have. Doing tech support. 10 bucks an hour with room for advancement from there. I work from home, however.
The goal is is to apply for the next position up 6 months after my hire date because 99.9% of inside applicants get said job. It's something around the 18-20 dollar an hour mark, working at home. And from there, look for higher and higher jobs in the tech industry. I'm in the best mood right now, and I have you guys to thank for getting me so into computers.
no problem deeps
btw I'm going to text you during school tomorrow since I have vacation starting
I still think its funny you live within like a 10 minute drive of me and we've never met.
When I get my license I'll go see you <3

If you can actually hit the 18 per hour mark, then it's awesome. Otherwise 10 seems quite low.
But hey, it's skilled and it's not really labor. I'd take it.

Brett I'm 19, live at home, and have ZERO expenses at all. 10 dollars an hour is big money for me. The goal is is once I hit that 18 dollar an hour mark, or possibly before, I'll be buying a brand new truck. Like, 2015 new. And by the time I'm 25 I hope to have my own place, and be almost done or already done paying it off and be set for life for cash because of the jobs I'll be able to get.
