[editline]29th November 2013[/editline]
So, this is my balance right now
8.48018142 LTC = $347.56870USD[/QUOTE]
i had like 3 but i gave up and deleted my wallet :/
I have no idea how these coin things work or how to get them
I don't get it
If your an american and want to buy coins your shit out of luck unless you can do bank wire transfer without issues, there are options though. localbitcoins.com I think is the url allows you to check your area for people selling bitcoin so you can buy and drop in your wallet and then deposit in an exchange to trade around like BTC-e.com for example. back when BTC was 250 I bought it through virwox to buy linden dollars then convert over to BTC with my creditcard about 20 bucks worth and been trading to what I have now.
why is it hard for an american to buy bitcoins? blame the us government and paypal and visa and mastercard for that.
but I want to collect them and sell them and be a bajillionaire
Any worthwhile difference between 840 Pro and Evo?
so bf4 apparently has a huge fucking temper tantrum when you use a dedicated soundcard. other than that it runs on high at 60fps somehow. win 8 ftw

my headphones came with a hub that acts as a USB soundcard, is that the random high pitched 'BEEEEEEEEEEP' that happens now and again if there's a lot going on?

What headphones do you have, perchance?

no, sound just drops out absolutely randomly. like different channels at a time, sometimes footsteps, sometimes ambiance, guns etc

I keep getting pagekings

On the topic of Bitcoins, it's really easy to buy them in the UK. Bittylicious sets up a deal between you and a seller, then all you've got to do is do a Faster Payments bank transfer (takes like a minute to complete) and the coins are released from escrow.
And my Litecoin experiment goes into its second day, hit a snag last night when my router couldn't connect to the internet and I had to hard reset it and I only noticed it by chance by waking up at four in the morning.
Not entirely sure if I'm going to pull the kill switch on this yet, I only have one GTX 760 and even if I did have the money I wouldn't invest in hardware.
I don't know that much about cryptocurrency, is it worth it to invest in Litecoin?
If so what's a good place to convert Litecoin into $$$?

Sony DR GA500
was discontinued and I got it for cheap, I like it for gaming but would rather plug my ath-50's into the hub if I don't need my microphone
controls on the hub are a bit touchy though, there's only one combination of the settings I actually think sounds 'right'
making good use of this free license

Also, power is currently free for me, would it be worth it to mine litecoins with my rig?
-snip found the answer-
Wow, my 660TI is like a thousand times more effective than my 460 was. It only needs one PCI-e power cable, and is much cooler and less noisy. Sweet.
jfc been fighting this whole morning because we thought someone made a man in the middle attack on our wifi, i think we're coming to a conclusion it's a phone system that's leaking out
Bitcoin is at 1180USD right now, the guys behind Cryptolocker had to drop the price of the ransom, it went from 2BTC to 0.5BTC.
That's bloody hilarious.
I just don't think I can put any significant amount of money into buttcoins. It's like investing in incredibly volatile stock. It just isn't secure enough. Yes, you've got these incredible bubbles like right now, but you never know when that will be and you stand to lose a lot if you don't sell at the right time. It's really not a currency now as much as a commodity.
I wish my friend hadn't stolen .3 bitcoins from me and then sold his total of 3 when they were at $30
[editline]29th November 2013[/editline]
I'd have fucking $300 right now

I wouldn't even bother with cpu mining

Are litecoins basically the bitcoin protocol with a different name?

Nvidia cards are to weak for mining. AMD is the best at mining due to heavy compute workloads which AMD's GCN is just better at.
Fucking hell
Windows 8.1 requires a key to get the iso, so now I'm downloading the iso by torrent (which is shady at best)
And it turns out qBittorrent permastalls if you run out of diskspace, even if you free space it stops tracking seeds properly and you have to restart the fucking thing
[QUOTE=TrafficMan;43016122]I wouldn't even bother with cpu mining
[/QUOTE]
With Litecoins its currently more profitable to use CPU when mining than GPU due to the algorithm used I think.
I think I might put my AMD Phenom II X6 1055T to some good use. I'm replacing this CPU with a AMD A10-6800K and I think it's a waste to do nothing with this CPU.
Is a powerful GPU essential for bitcoin mining? I have never done bitcoin mining at all, but I think doing a cheap setup with this CPU running 24/7 can make something very good.
you won't get anywhere bitcoin mining with a cpu
