Seriously. All the recent monitor 4k's have been 30+ inch. It's about time someone tries to do a modern T221. There's so many things I'd love to see fixed with that display. Even if it's like $10k+, it's a GOOD step forward.

Ten or so years ago the prices for even basic 4:3 LCD panels was insane. $700 got you something like a Viewsonic with 1024x768 at 60hz. $1200 was getting you 1600x1200. If I recall there was a big price fixing scandal.
Compared to today where your basic 720p screen is under $150.

Honestly when I ran Ubuntu full time I didn't have anything in my install that wasn't backed up somewhere online. Music in Google Music as it was called at the time, photos online through Dropbox which syncs to my phone plus any computer that I logged into the program on it... So when a new release came out, I'd either burn a disk or put it on a USB and just do a fresh install. Wipe the HDD completely and then install.

wow. got a new digitizer for my phone.
The protective screen wrap/sheet thingy either stopped multitouch from working or this new digitizer only works w/ 2 fingers when they hit from far edges of the screen.
