Kaspersky is a paid product, Avast free covers the same territory as they don't really test anything other than the antivirus engine; they don't worry about things like firewall or phishing protection or other bells and whistles in those tests.
If someone were to pay for an AV, I would tell them to get Kaspersky based on these tests.
Oh I didn't realise Avast was free.
Fun Fact: McAfee's engine is licensed from Avast; they will generally get similar protection results as a result. McAfee has been using Avast's technologies for a few years now.
everyone I know is hating on the drone delivery when I think it's one of coolest things since Amazon itself
I just tried it and turns out they lied. I can't downsample any of my games.
It just lets you choose the resolution the game will be set to from your existing list. If you didnt add custom resolutions in NvidiaCP they won't be there.

I would imagine that using Audacity would be better, unless Shadowplay puts mic input on a separate channel.

well, how would you manage this if you used it for pre-recording?
[editline]2nd December 2013[/editline]
I mean, it's certainly possible but it's sure as fuck a complicated way of doing it.

Just do a "one, two, three, click" thing to get the sync together in post. Though I suppose for really informal clips it would be fine.

Yea if anything new panels will do it and over time it becomes less noticable. My ZR30 ghosted a lot for the first few days same with my Nexus 7.

How exactly did they try to steal them? I vaguely remember the topic, but I can't find it anywhere.
iirc, they tricked him into going to a website that grabbed his IP address and they tried getting into his machine and nicking his wallets.

Ick. Eev. Shut up and go back to your garage of shit people give you.
Had the worst bug last night. Chrome would immediately open - no extensions loaded - and immediately crash. Every damn time. Yanked the cable on my PC, let it sleep overnight, and it's working now? Whatever.

Maybe my less than 1 year old Western Digital Black dying has something to do with all the problems I've had in the past few days.
Motherfucker.

Better back that shit up yo.
It's just my game drive, thankfully, not anything important - all my photoshop and code stuff is on my other drive, the one I got from RMAing my Seagate. :v:
I have shit luck with hard drives. Chkdisk seemed to fix it so I'll move everything that I currently play onto my other drive.

Also Avast scores way higher than MSE does in real-world protection tests. (The dotted line going across the horizontal is MSE.)

http://www.av-comparatives.org/dynamic-tests/
For these reasons I am continuing to be an Avast user.
(However, http://www.av-test.org/en/home/ reports that Avast is slower on Windows 7 but doesn't seem to go into detail as to why. It reports better protection scores than MSE, however.)
Can I call some slight bullshit on this? It says Avira is up there with the best of them, but it actually USES the ASK TOOLBAR for its web protection.

Also, check the labels on that graph. Definitely misleading - you do NOT start a graph at 80%.

Probably they meant to put that thing you put on graphs when you have to break the axis:

Like this, they just forgot or didn't bother.

It's still misleading to break a graph like that. If you really need to show a wide range, use a logarithmic scale.
What kind of total writes are you guys on your SSD's?
my system drive has 11TB total writes and my game SSD is like 6TB. I'd say that's pretty good.

Now you know why friends don't let friends use Western Digital.
Now you know why friends don't let friends use Western Digital.
I was pissed off when my Seagate died, and figured "Well if it has a 5 year warranty, it can't be that bad."
I wonder what their warranty return figures are, because one of my buddies had the exact same thing happen to his Black.
Also, wow, Western Digital, way to make blacks not work.
Now you know why friends don't let friends use Western Digital.
Just because you have bad luck with them doesn't automatically mean their shit. I've had bad luck with Seagate as well, but I don't automatically qualify them as a shit tier manufacturer.
I've had bad luck with Seagate as well
And now I've had bad luck with both. Who do I turn to? Hitachi? Pfffffffffffft.
Naw, I'm really just glad I have two separate platter drives. At least I can back up my shit. And hey, I still have my old Seagate 320GB in an external enclosure somewhere!
My WD Black has been working for two years just fine. S.M.A.R.T. still reports it's in good health.
Can I call some slight bullshit on this? It says Avira is up there with the best of them, but it actually USES the ASK TOOLBAR for its web protection.
It only tests the antivirus. Things like browser plugins or firewalls aren't taken into account. They do have total product reviews, though, that might talk about ease of use and superfluous features.
