is there something else I can use just to see if that shows the same? and how would I turn on crossfire if it's already set to be on in catalyst but apparently isn't on?
Try running a benchmark EG Heaven, note down your score, turn off crossfire and run the benchmark again, that should determine if it's working at all.
I'm thinking about trying Litecoin mining on my 7970 machine.
What mining software do you recommend? So far I've found GUIMiner-Scrypt, which seems like it's extremely easy to use, atleast.

How ridiculous is this? To run Autodesk Smoke I need a Mac with a Quadro card, yet the new Mac Pro cylinder is using ATI (AMD) cards and the consumer grades macs don't have Quadros. Also they recommend having drives in RAID which is stupid considering you need to use an external box for the cylinder or any other current Mac:

For fuck sake Autodesk, just make it PC compatible you idiots.
I don't know what Microsoft changed in Windows 8, but file copy performance is definitely way better than in previous versions.
I'm copying 20GB to a dying hard drive, and then I copied some mp3's in the middle of that operation.
The first operation's speed dropped a bit, instead of starving out the second operation like 7 would do.

If I recall correctly, they overhauled all the file transferring code.

looks like crossfire is enabled even though speccy says otherwise.

Ive just come to the saddening realization that if I would have put $100 in and bought a bitcoin when it was that cheap, I would have made 900 dollars by now.
Due to that realization, Im now going to buy $100 worth of bitcoin. Whats the simplest way to buy using a debit card or paypall?
Don't buy bitcoin. Buy litecoin.
why
My school's firewall is tough as hell. Anyone else heard of iBoss?
I think I'm going to have to resort to a home-hosted VPN and Ubuntu on a Live USB just to get a little bit of freedom back. The school actually blocks resources I need for study much of the time, plus I wanna watch some Game Grumps when I'm given nothing to do.
why
Less money to lose, better investment and room for growth.
I've never heard of Litecoin until now.

It popped up as a competitor to Bitcoin after it blew through the roof.
Actually, a few competing standards started popping up in the frame of a week, all insisting that if you buy them the value will skyrocket and it will become the standard for [del]purchasing drugs, guns, child porn and money laundering[/del]online transactions.

If I recall, that's what my high school used. It's impressively good. I think I tried a bunch of shit, OpenVPN Access Server, SSH, PPTP and some free VPN stuff like Hotspot Shield. The only thing that managed to work well enough was PHProxy, though that's really limited. I ended up just tethering my phone to my laptop.
EDIT: The only thing I didn't try is tunneling through DNS: http://code.kryo.se/iodine/
Can't imagine it will work though.

SSTP and OpenVPN should work on the iBoss filter
SSTP and OpenVPN should work on the iBoss filter
I can't recall if I tried straight OpenVPN or just Access Server, but I wasn't able to get a VPN, SSH or proxy through it. Even when I did stuff like put them on port 443.
Nevermind, shit is fixed.
