No can do, I'm only awake right now because we're doing a production update with mandatory downtime (for a half-hour DB update), so I'm already on a Google hangout and two chats to coordinate all this shit.

There's no irc subdomain.
Wow I think I've used IRC like once before, probably like 10 years ago and it took me like 5 seconds to download a program and connect. :v:

Why the hell would you not use IRC??
It's as easy as going to irc.slashnet.org and joining #CIPWTTKT

Don't ask me. I'm not hosting it.

Non freenode :(
I don't know what that means, but we need more people.
How much more wattage would a modest CPU and GPU overclock draw?
There's no solid answer for it. That depends on several factors such as what the CPU is and what settings were changed.
How much more wattage would a modest CPU and GPU overclock draw?
An oveclocked i5 2500k @ 4.4 ghz draws about 192 watts. My titan @ 1137 uses about over 400 watts.
I just did the first time setup for windows media player

Reinstalling windows 8 has been a nightmare...
Reinstalling windows 8 has been a nightmare...
how so
Installing Win8.1 for me is a lot less painful than Win7 because most of the drivers set up automatically and there aren't 200000000 updates to install

Isn't there a risk of your installed programs / games not working when upgrading to 8.1? its the only thing putting me off... and has the mouse 'lock' issue been fixed?

Never experienced or heard of those things tbh.
edit: just looked up the mouse thing, no wonder I didn't notice it, I don't play those games! :v:
I dunno how often people still post Computer Illiterate people in here but I'mma go ahead anyway
My mom refuses to give out her card number to any website where it's needed, be it payment or connecting to a bank account (and I mean things like PayPal or eBay, secure sites).
Her reasons for this are one of the following:
a) She doesn't trust it and thinks people will be able to steal her money.
b) She thinks the sites will hack into her card and give it viruses
:suicide:

I haven't heard of nor personally noticed any compatibility issues in programs between 8 and 8.1. Microsoft address the mouse issues with KB2908279, and pushed a patch that fixes that issue with most of the affected games, and provides instructions on how to fix it for other unlisted games.

When I upgraded to 8.1 my SFM started to fuck up bone-placement on models when rotated.
Even when I reverted back to regular Win8 the problem was still there. Did a format of every drive, problem still persists.
I've no idea what happened, but it wasn't a problem before I upgraded to 8.1.
I cry myself to sleep every night because of this unsolved heinous crime.

Why would I? It's just going to point to the same place and you have to type four extra characters.
Thinking about getting smart phones for my parents.
Agree: 2x Moto G @ £130 each
Disagree: 2x Lumia 520 @ £90 each
Both my parents are 3310 users still.

Why would you use a subdomain? It's just a hostname.
Not like you use the hostname after you set up your bouncer anyways.

I own a Lumia 520 myself and it's a pretty great phone. For £90 I don't think you can say anything bad about it.

I'll probably just stick to normal 8. I have no problems with it atm and hardly use the start menu so I don't think I'd gain anything, how does the issue with the mouse even get by testing (if they even do it).. dumbasses.

The problem is that its not a guaranteed problem. I went from 8 to 8.1 on the launch day and my mouse was unchanged. I have not seen any mouse issues in any games. Its easy to see how they missed it.
Only problem I encountered was being unable to run things as an administrator. Turns out you had to reinstall your sound drivers :v:. I don't even think that's an 8.1 specific problem since I saw that suggestion on a Vista board.
My Dad is getting worried about the amount of energy the fans use in the computer downstairs. He's paranoid it making his bills go up.

The fans specifically? Not the computer itself?

This hasn't happened to me on any modern computer (i.e. my desktop and my two laptops.)
