From 10 pm to 3:50 pm? It took you 18 hours?!
Because once I started installing it loads of other problems popped up.
Windows 8 installed fine, took a while but went fine. But when installing 8.1 thats when shit got mad.
RAID decided that it wouldn't let me boot so I had to remove the drives, then my external drives decided they wanted to so I had to remove them, then my computer decided it was sick and needed a new BIOS. BUT OH NO a P8Z77-V Deluxe BIOS isn't compatible P8Z77-V Deluxe so I had to some how convert the file from another board to get it to work but once I did it failed and it decided to boot normally.
The 18 hours is including the time I was sleeping in between reboots since many times in the past when something hitches on booting it just takes a while to pass. My reboots and such take a long time normally since I have so many devices so I figured I'll nap and see what happens.

benjeffery.ca 6667
#cipwttkt
I don't know what that information is or how to use it

I keep getting connection refused.

Install Quassel or XChat. Add a new IRC network and enter benjeffery.ca for the address and use port 6667 (Should be the default). Then join the #cipwttkt channel

Screeny of your config?
Now my driver for my realtek optical out is switching the port on when playing audio and turning it off when not.
This is a problem since my DAC uses a relay when detecting a signal so it goes tick, tick, tick, tick, tick with all the little windows sounds going on.
Screeny of your config?
I assume this is what you mean.

I apologize, I'm ridiculously new to IRC.

Try doing 192.81.210.83 instead of the domain. (Same host)

Nevermind I got it. I logged into my home server and it works fine. I think my school's firewall is blocking port 6667, since Freenode and other stuff doesn't connect either.
Whatever, it works now.
Because of waiting times with bank transfers and changing exchange rates, I made ~$5 by buying a sound card with bitcoins.

heh
On a lighter note, Windows 8 decided to not copy my user directory when I did my basic copy backup.
So I completely lose all data in my users folder since I reinstalled windows 8.
All this to make battlefield 4 not run like complete shit. I entirely blame dice for this. Completely fucking serious.

From now on use a symbolic link from your Documents, Pictures, etc to a folder on an alternate harddrive. It makes reinstalling Windows incredibly easy.
That includes my giant itunes library file which handled all my podcasts which I've been following since like 2005. I have backup from May apparently but this is just so fucking pissing me off.

For the longest time I just worked on my desktop and then copied stuff over to backups but I lost interest in doing that. So I may just work within dropbox or something. I just hate doing that since I'd have to make a shortcut.
Also you could attempt to use one of those Hard-Drive recovery programs, but who knows if it will actually work.
I already tried, I'd have to go with "forensic scan" where it has to check against known filetypes and the ones I need aren't shown.
So Google Hangouts Video calling doesn't work at school. Pretty sure the ports are just blocked. Skype video calls works fine.
What are my options if I was to access it even though the ports are blocked?

Is there something special I need to do in windows 8 to make my SSD's work right?
Defrag it
It's just there is like a constant 1 second delay to any folder opened to on the SSD.
You've got it running in AHCI right?
You've got it running in AHCI right?
It's running on RAID so it's AHCI for single drives I think. Wasn't an issue on 7.
My package of computer parts took almost two days to get from Tennessee to Kentucky, and just got flown from there to Seattle in four hours :v:
It should be out for delivery tomorrow, but I wouldn't quite call that 3 day shipping (I ordered it the wednesday before thanksgiving).
I'm tempted to go back to windows 7. I really don't want to after all this though.
Honestly I didn't understand why I moved to 8/8.1 either but I'm not going to downgrade since its not worth my time
I'd upgrade if it was free, otherwise I'm perfectly happy with Win7
If the user end experience moving to 8-8.1 has been shit I don't think I'm ever moving. I don't really need to anyway.
It's hard for me not to blame windows 8 for my lost data which completely spoils the newness of the OS. if I had all my old data back from a working backup then I'd likely not be as harsh but even the smallish annoyances make me just hate windows 8.
Seriously why do I have to go fullscreen to look for an application, it makes no fucking sense. I don't care how pretty it is. It's stupid. I have a video playing and I go to find a program and it completely blocks the entire screen. Who fucking thought that was a good idea
